I have to say, you guys are brave... I have never dared to try anything on my bags, yeah.. take that back... water one time and even water darkened the leather. On the other hand, if the bag in that "vintage" condition I guess you can try anything on it just to gain some experience if can't fix it.

Just wanted to post some pics of a repair I did today on my Metis Hobo. Had a hole
In corner and got brave after watching you tube video and purchased 3m vinyl/leather repair. I was very nervous to try this because it involves heat but I am so pleased with results. It's not perfect but it looks a lot better and hopefully won't tear any further. The top picture is the after..lol, had some trouble getting both to post.

Great job.

Hi everyone! I'm new here and quite interested in rescue LV bag for my own usage so that I decided to buy an old one for this project! Finger cross that I won't ruin the bag (I'm quite nervous now) and I have never dyed any bag (this is my first and still learning so will have much to ask! Thank you guys for supporting me ^^) btw, with this bag, the inside colour is quite clean so I decide to leave it there and choose the colour that match for outside! Do you guys think which colour should I choose to dye? I'm bad at choosing colour so thank you for your help! And also if you click in for a look, can you help me to tel that it's real or not? I'm going to pay for it anw! Ty xx

I definitely will post my result after dyeing it :p
P/S: I saw someone's project here and quite like this colour, do you think it will match my bag?

Hi guys! I have an update and recommendation for you!
I purchased a LV Neverfull mm in indigo from Fashionphile for right around $600- and while it was damaged mostly on one side, I had some hope that maybe I could repair it...or wear that side toward my body at all times! Ha!
After unsuccessfully attempting to dye, paint, cover the white rubbed off area I decided to send it in for some tlc.
Mark Balian with Leatherpros did an absolutely remarkable job. It looks basically brand new now...I'm still in shock- Apparently the person before me lived in glitter because there was so much inside so I'm imagining this bag having lived on Broadway or something.

Here are some before and after shots so you can see what I'm talking about.

If you need repair contact him and you will not be disappointed!

Thanks for letting me brag a bit!

Was he able to keep the 2-tone tonality of Epi? I got some Epi pieces with similar rubbed off areas, but I'm concerned I'll lose the 2-tone textures (there's usually a lighter shade the the bottom of the grain with a darker shade at the top)

I decided to take on my own LV rescue/refresh/rehab. I purchased this Amarante Vernis Cles for $160 on eBay! I had one of the ladies here authenticate it for me. It actually looked better in person than in the photos online.

The chain was chipping pretty badly and the patent leather was wearing off the zipper pull. Also, the leather inside is scratched and really dull looking. It also had a strong perfume smell.

I used some pliers to pull the chain off (I’ll be using this as a small wallet, so don’t need it). I attached a small LVesque clip (purchased from Kcraft for less than $2) to the zipper pull ring and cut off the old zipper pull. I also gave it a good sanitizing with some alcohol free baby wipes and a cloth. To condition the leather inside the cles I smothered it in vaseline and then buffed that with a cloth. All of these steps took less than 20 minutes. To get rid of the smell I stuffed it with dryer sheets and wrapped it in them as well. I let that sit for two nights. The smell is much much better.

I’m pretty excited that I’ve gotten a vernis cles for a steal and given it a whole new life. I’ve attached my youtube video of the refresh if you’re interested. Thanks for letting me share!

Cute! The people at the bigger stores can actually replace the small hardware of Cles' in a couple of minutes. If you have a good relationship with the store, even for free :) :flowers:
