Another rehab project I completed awhile back: Cleaning/removing the interior lining of a Toiletry 26.
I own a older model toiletry 26 which originally had the brown rubberized interior (not the same as the current model which includes a wipeable beige lining).
The interior was in good condition, but since I use this as a clutch, the rubberized interior began to crack and flake off into small, sticky brown pieces the more I used it.
There was no fixing this issue when evaluated by LV. This is a relatively inexpensive piece and pretty readily available, so I wasn't afraid to try a DIY. Also, this method removes the date code, which isn't important to me anyway.

The interior before any work was done. Cracking and peeling reveals a beige cotton underneath.
Materials used:
-a toothbrush (for tight spaces)
-Lysol wipes

I took the Lysol wipe, crumpled it up, then proceeded to rub the interior lining off using a circular motion. Within seconds, the friction and moisture from the wipe removed the peeling lining.

In progress--look at that clean cotton underneath!

The aftermath: lots of wipes.

Perfectly clean interior with very little trace of the original lining.
This very aggressive rehab method did not affect the canvas in any way. It did not affect the shape of the toiletry 26. It also removed any "storage odor"
Exterior was cleaned the same way I usually do it: soap/water/toothbrush to scrub the canvas, magic eraser/Cadillac to clean and condition the vachetta tab, brasso for the zipper.

Sorry for the longer post!
This is fantastic! Great work!
