I love Alma! It looks great, enjoy!

Thank you! This one was so cheap, about $180, and I mainly bought it just to see if after carrying it around awhile I'd want a more expensive one (I generally like floppy hobo bags and this is one is rather structured). I am surprised by how much I like it; I've been carrying it around quite a bit. I think I'll wait to buy a new one since this one has new life now, but eventually I want a newer one.

Oh and I love your nails - I'm a nail polish freak myself ;)

I was going to send my French Co speedy to Artbag but went ahead and dropped it off at LV on the off chance they could repair it.

It needed a new zipper and I had already been told they don't have the materials to repair French Co bags when I previously asked to have the handles replaced. But surely they could replace the zipper and keep the zipper pull? Yup! Super happy with outcome.

Looks BEAUTIFUL! Did you use Apple leather cleaner and conditioner on the handles or only the cleaner?

I used both. I did notice darkening of the leather, but since it was water stained I didn't mind and at least it was nice and even. I also feel like the conditioner left the handles a bit sticky, but I think that might change with time and use. If it doesn't I may try the Lovin My Bags stuff next time. I also bought the Magic Eraser I am still too scared to use it. Not sure I ever will.

I also used an organic makeup wipe on the canvas, and it removed a few of the spots that were on the bag and cleaned it up. Then I wiped the residue off with a damp cloth. Interiors I cannot fix at all, but I can always stick a purse organizer in one if the inside is too grody.

Also, I noticed on my mini-Ellipse that when I polished the zipper, I got Brasso residue on the fabric part of it and it had turned a little white. I read up on how to remove Brasso from fabric and one of the suggestions was to use Dawn dish soap, because Brasso is petroleum-based and needs something made to remove waxy products to get it off. Since Dawn is made to cut through grease, it supposedly worked, and since I was at the grocery store at the time I picked up a little bottle and applied it with a Q-Tip to the cloth part of the zipper, then left it to soak for an hour or so. It seems to have worked!

I am so grateful to you for posting this solution for Brasso getting into the fabric lining of the zippers! No matter how careful I am I still seem to get it on the fabric and it looks unsightly.
I'm happy to know about the Dawn trick!!!
Thank you, thank you:D:D:D

Thank you, thank you

After about an hour I got a wet q-tip to scrub off a little of the Dawn, then let it be. I just looked at it 24 hours later, and it does appear that the residue is gone. So - so far, so good!

After scrubbing a sticky mess, drying, brass cleaning, leather cleaning and conditioning. "phew" I have a great, plenty of life left, discontinued LV prize! I had both items authenticated here on tpf(thank you ladies, your greatly appreciated)
The 1998 pouchette I purchased separate a few weeks ago not realizing it was a tote pouchette and not a full double d ring pouchette, but for $45 I kept her and cleaned her up (just needs a new zipper pull) I guess it was meant to be because I found this 1997 GM bucket sans pouchette a few days ago also at a steal($95) with a little love and scrubbing she's ready to go to Mom's house for Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving all!
Fantastic, you are great savior! :) Please, what´s the "technology" of cleaning the lining - some method of craping?
Thanks.

I have this mini papillion from my aunt - do you think I can clean the zipper? And what can I do with the crack in the bottom? View attachment 2804539View attachment 2804550

Thanks a lot
Keep searching. There was a thread a while back about somebody repairing a crack with some kind of glue and then they painted the spot to blend it in. It was a great looking repair. You might Google it and see what comes up.

Jeans- I love looking at your photos! You do a great job giving new life to a bag that couldn't be used anymore! Every LV should be so lucky! I have never bought pre owned but have looked at some discontinued Epis with the sticky, peeling pockets and I am too much of a wimp to try a fix-it. Have you ever tried to fix the inside pocket of an Epi? I would love to know how you would tackle something like that. In the meantime, keepthe photos coming!
Also, I have a sister who also buys everything I buy. It's really nice of you to rehab your sister's bags!

Jeans- do you use simple green concentrated or full strength? What type if brush do you usr and since the color seems to change, how do you know when you have it all scrubbed off?
So eventually, you do need to replace the lining at all if you use the simple green cleaning method?
My Louis is unuseable due to the stick lining
