Here's my Speedy which I bought new from LV in the 70's  I had used it a lot back then and then I put it away and didn't use it for years. One of the handles has come apart and the other one needs re-stitching aswell. I took it to LV but they told me they don't work on such old bags. I want to have it fixed and re-use it since the canvas is fine. I will take it to an artisan and see what can be done. I hope to be able to post after pics aswell!

This is just such a beautiful piece and a piece of history!!!! They should have repaired it for you! The patina and honey color is just amazing. They should have taken it in just to study it. That canvas from the 70’s is still good!!!! Talk about QUALITY back then! Give someone else the honor! Because it’s an honor to fix this for you!!!! Wow! Beautiful! Good luck ❤️

Thanks dear, that's what I thought too. The canvas is still perfect, incredible!

The artisan called me today saying it's ready, I'll try to go on Monday and then I'll take pics of the results!

Beautiful! Did you purchase her in this condition?

No. She has some pretty big noticeable water stains, rubbing and dryness on the bottom and trim. Handle patina was uneven and they were dry. All the fittings needed cleaned. Cleaned her with wipes, applied AppleCare, used white eraser on the water stains and handles, cleaned her with wipes again, used Apple again, then finished off with a coat of Kiwi conditioning oil to protect and seal. Cleaned the fittings with Brasso and wipes the canvas with ArmorAll. The water spots lightened and evened out, the handles evened out and the brass cleaned up beautifully. Canvas has defining and gloss.

My DH paid $350, now she looks like a million bucks!

I wanted to jump on here & post some photos of my Speedy B25 that I purchased 1 year & 2 months ago. (Sept 2019) It was starting to look very tarnished & chipped on the hardware. I was really upset because it had only been a year old & I had only used it a few times, besides that it had been kept in its dust bag. I tried using a polishing cloth on the hardware which did nothing. The buttons on the chaps looked so worn you could barely make out the Louis Vuitton logo. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about using brasso, & tried to look up on it but it looked like majority of the people that tried it used it on vintage pieces in which LV did use brass hardware on those pieces. I was hesitate because I heard that LV no longer uses brass and wasn’t sure if brasso would completely damage the hardware. I ended up picking up some brasso today for $3 and said what the heck, I mind as well just try it out on a small area of the bag and just see how it reacts. I’m so happy! All the tarnish and what I thought was chipping is completely gone! It looks almost brand new again and I couldn’t be happier! I wanted to come on here & show my results in case anyone else was hesitate on using brasso on their newer LV bags.

I have my neverfull DE from 2011 , my bag still looks great, but on the strap anf the top part started to crease and a bit tear . ( also wear on the corners of canvas i know its natural because of time of use)

what i most care? About it the top creasing part and strap.
it doesnt look serious yet but..

Should i repair it at the lv store
Or get a new one?

I have an almost 30 year old LV that has that kind of creasing. It is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If it starts to crack all the way through the strap, then you have to worry.
Apply leather conditioner (Apple makes a good one) to the straps and trim every few months to keep it from getting too dry and to help keep it supple. You have YEARS of life left on that bag!
