The Lazy Gal's Way To Stretch The Toe Box!

Another thing you can do before you go out ... wear your shoes around the house in socks before you go out to "warm up the leather" and stretch them out then slip them on without socks before leaving. The leather will be stretched and "warmed up" to your feet. I do this with my Mago and it's been working. I did it yesterday with the AD (brand new) and it worked too ... just another "sox hint"

Anyone stretched out Pigalle Flats? I think the length of my new Spikeys is just a tad short (should have 1/2 sized up), but hey, on sale eBay. I wore them out on Sunday and the tips of my 3rd and 4th toe feel a bit tender!

Since they are the Pigalles, the length is a bit longer but not all that space is "useable". They are nappa so I stuffed my shoe stretcher in with a sock in the back to see if I can widen the whole toe area.

I will report in a few days.

I've figured out the best way for me is the sock trick - my shoe stretcher is ok but doesn't really fit into +4" heels or flats.

I sprayed a 50/50 rubbing alcohol/water mix on the inside of the toes because I couldn't wait for the Kiwi Shoe stretch that I'd like to get and couldn't find in two drugstores I went to today.

What I do is to use a super comfy ankle sock and fold it over itself (making it even thicker!) so that no cutting is needed and I don't stretch out the heel, a :nogood::nogood: for me. Plus the best sock is a wool sock - LOVE SmartWool socks, as my toes seem to breathe while I'm doing this.

Super stylish no?

I always love black and gray together ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions in this thread - it's helped me so much. I have a pair of Declics that were right in length but very tight in the toebox. The first time I wore the shoes (to dinner) my toes fell asleep and I almost toppled over while walking. I did wear the shoes with socks for a bit but what REALLY helped was to stuff the shoes with socks to stretch them out - I left two socks in each shoe for 2 weeks and now they fit perfect :)

Just read the whole thread! Thanks for the wonderful tips! I need to try and stretch the toe of my satin Hyper Prive on 1 foot.

Does anyone know if the rubbing alcohol will damage the satin? They are off white satin with the blue insoles. I don't want the blue from the leather to bleed onto the satin.

I'm wishing I could stretch them a size and a half since I can only find 37s and I need a 38.5

Nice!

My US size is a 38 but I read these are half a size up when normal Pigalles are a hafl-full size down...what mystery is this?

wait, is your US size 8 or 7.5? I'm CL 38, but 7.5.

Only Pigalle heels are sized down. you'll see that the higher the heel the more you should go down. like I can go TTS-1/2 down for 100mm but 1/2-full size down for 120s.

literally that means, the higher up you are the more your foot will get squashed into the toebox, leaving more of your heel exposed. thus, you must size DOWN

so even if they are Pigalle, there's no height and it's a narrow toebox, therefore go up 1/2 size!

US 8 and CL 38/38.5 pending the shoe. If you're a 7.5 why are you stretching a 38? I need a 38.5 if sizing half up from US TTS

CL sizing is always confusing. I would not go by absolutes. Based on my knowledge of my foot and CLs, I knew it was prob. 1/2 size small, but I got a deal on the bay.

If you're an 8, you may need a 39. Depends on your foot...I think someone here, SassySarah? found she needed to go down half size :confused1:

I got impatient and tried it. It appears there is a tiny amount of blue transfer on to the edges of the peep toe from the insoles. Thank goodness I'm strassing these. But it worked!

Can someone elighten me if the alcohol swabbing only works with leather shoes I presume?

I just used the alcohol trick on my satin HPs and it worked wonderfully. I would just be careful with peep toes if your insoles are not the typical natural color.

I just poured a bit of alcohol on the toe inserts that came with the shoes and had my BF stuff them in as tightly as possible.
