I can’t tell if the vertical line is a crack or natural imperfection. But I definitely feel that at the price I paid, it should’ve at least been disclosed.

The seller is Ultimate Jadeite and although her descriptions usually point out lines, that was not the case here. She only mentioned rough surfaces which isn’t even what I posted above. When I sent her the picture of the lines she said she never knew to check with a light at such an angle. This is shocking to me as someone who is known as a trusted seller for many years.

I’ve decided to return the bangle as I think it will bother me in the long run.
Yes, if it keeps playing on your mind best to return it. Especially if you paid quite a hefty amount for it. I guess the search continues for you... I hope you find your dream piece.

Hello ladies. It's been a long time. Hope everyone is doing well. I just want to share the jade bangle I bought for my mum. She had a fall and broke her bangle. She was not hurt, just upset that her jade bangle broke. So I decided to buy a new one for her.View attachment 5739295
It's has a lovely pattern!

I've always been interested in the metaphysical properties of stones. Maybe the bangle protected her during the fall.

The more I wear cotton candy, the happier I am that I purchased their sibling. It's got lighter colors, but the resemblance is there. My current bangle cotton candy, always seems to liven up when I wear it.

They will be a matching pair

Traditionally, women bought two bangles that came from the same rough stone at a given time... Just in case one breaks, there is a backup. Because each jade bangle is so unique, it would be near impossible to find a replacement.

My hinged bangle is coming today. I can hardly wait to see it. Excited!!

@ivorydolly thanks for sharing that previous practice. Certainly makes sense especially if one finds a bangle that calls out to them! It must be great these days to be able to choose a raw jade slab and have a bangle or two custom-made from it. I watched a couple in YouTube who went to Myanmar and the wife had a special bangle made for her from a rough slab.

I have been reading and watching material about jade and I must say one of the things that drew me to it (and makes me super appreciate it) is how steeped it is in tradition and culture.

I am excited for you on your hinged bangle and look forward to seeing it! A hinged bangle is on my list as I would like to have one that fits my 14cm wrist snugly. (I’m afraid my knuckles won’t be able to handle the pressure of a small unhinged bangle).

You must send a link of this YouTube video. I'm keen to watch anything jade related!

We have about the same sized wrists :) I know I should probably go smaller, especially with a hinged bangle but once I fall in love with a piece, I try to work with it haha. Will post a pic when it arrives.

Honestly, I haven't had any issues with my carved bangles and I'm kind of klutz. I tend to knock my arms on walls, door knobs, desk, railings, etc and so far so good or I'm just lucky. I'm stuck with my black carved on the left wrist since March 2020 because I've gained too much weight to slip it off. I miss being able to swap bangles out.

Here are some reposts of my carved bangles.

I have a swollen and badly bruised hand from just removing my jade bangle. My daughter had to help me take it off. I’ll put it back after I lose the dreaded Covid-19.My hand hurts but I’m missing it already!

Gosh these are lovely carved jade bangles! My eyes are very happy looking at them.

Junkenpo's bangles are indeed a feast for the eyes . What a collection!

Oh no! Try icing up your hand to reduce the swelling

Out of curiosity, has anyone here ever gotten any of their bangles tested? At mason Kay or another reputable lab?
I have sent a few pieces to Mason Kay. They provide thorough testing, and for an additional fee they will appraise the item for you. The whole process took a few weeks. I was comfortable sending the bangles to them via USPS. with insurance and tracking of course!
I think for resale purposes a certificate from GIA is more universally recognizable.

So it arrived. It is not completely what I was expecting... It has a green tinge and I thought it was completely white. What do you guys think?

The good this is it fits the wrist quite nicely since it isn't as bulky as the other two bangles. Would probably pair up nicely with the other jadeite pieces too.

I think it's gorgeous. Love to see photo of it paired with your other bangles. BUT if it's not what you really expect it to be, can it be returned with full refund? BTW, are the hinges in steriling silver?
