I see what you mean. To be honest, the vertical would bother me more, especially if I could feel it. I prefer my bangles smooth. However, most of my bangles have internal hairlines. Most also have color roots, and the odd internal roughness. They’ve all been fine. One of my most included, Ivy, actually took a tumble, and it was perfectly fine. Here.Apologies for all the posts but I’d like some honest opinions. Upon further inspection of my bangle, I noticed some stone lines and now question whether or not it will affect the structural integrity of the bangle. Please let me know what you think. Im still in the return window but overall do like the bangle. However, given the price I paid and this was not disclosed, I’m not 100% comfortable.
Particularly, I’m more concerned about the line that’s vertical. It’s internal and cannot be felt. The horizontal like is more of a rough surface type line.

One of my bangles has a vertical micro hairline that can be felt over a colour root, and it can only be seen under magnification. It doesn't bother me. I see natural imperfections as birthmarks of the jade. However, I would not accept cracks that occur during the carving process or cracks that formed afterwards (such as being dropped). It also depends on the price you paid. You would expect more expensive pieces to have little to no visual imperfections. Do you feel that you overpaid for this piece or do you think it is in line with what you paid?Apologies for all the posts but I’d like some honest opinions. The colour of this jade really suits your complexion. Very nice!Anddddd I’ve switched bangle. To welcome the change in the year, and a change in my life, I thought I’d wear my happiest bangle. It just exudes positivity.

I only have a certificate that accompanied my jadeite pendant, from the Hong Kong Gems Laboratory. Have you had anything tested before?Out of curiosity, has anyone here ever gotten any of their bangles tested? At mason Kay or another reputable lab?
Thank you! After polishing it myself, I like wearing it more. It’s my only lavender bangle so it’s special to me.The colour of this jade really suits your complexion. Very nice!
No. I would like to, but I don’t trust USPS. They handle packages so roughly.I only have a certificate that accompanied my jadeite pendant, from the Hong Kong Gems Laboratory. Have you had anything tested before?
Thank you! Phew at least I know it’s seen in Burmese Jade. I was so confused, since I’d never handled Burmese Jade like this beforePlease don't feel bad! Both my Burmese blue-green bangles have these white inclusions which are called slowflakes. Looks just like yours except mine aren't carved. Please feel happy that you have a Burmese blue-green bangle![]()
It's probably an internal hairline / vein if you can't feel it with the nail. I agree, as long as you don't drop it on a hard surface, it should be fine. Normal daily bumps shouldn't affect it either if you are careful. And Jade fever struck again. I purchased Cotton Candy’s sibling from ultimate jadeite. View attachment 5738845View attachment 5738846
It is truly a beautiful bangle. The only thing that worries me is this “crack line” Nandar assured me it wasn’t feelable. Which honestly makes me doubt it’s a crack. She says it doesn’t go all the way around it, and otherwise the bangle is in perfect condition. No fingernail bumps, or chips, or scratches, and has a very fine texture. Honestly, if it weren’t for the “crack” it would have been very expensive.
After a lot of thought, I decided not to get it banded. It should be fine on it’s own, right? I don’t see it becoming more damaged from normal bumps and nicks. And I’ll just be very careful to be in a soft surface when taking it off.
I don’t really think it’s a crack. Usually cracks can be felt with the fingernail. What do you guys think?
I can’t tell if the vertical line is a crack or natural imperfection. But I definitely feel that at the price I paid, it should’ve at least been disclosed. One of my bangles has a vertical micro hairline that can be felt over a colour root, and it can only be seen under magnification.
