Hi Jade4me! I meant every word I said, including the exclamation marks!!!It's a fabulous creation!!! Well done, clever girl!!!!!
And ooooooh, love your grey black Jadeite Bangle. It's very beautiful!!! Also many thanks for explaining about the surface colour polish and the way it comes up with UV light. It's so wonderful of you to share your knowledge. xoxo. Thanks so much!!! May I ask a couple of questions please?
How could you tell if the colour polish is on the surface only or deeper? Did you have a suspicion or just decided to test with the UV light? And secondly, what does an 'Olive oil bath' mean and how do you do it? Does it have to be extra virgin Olive oil? Would it help Nori's belly button for example? Being Greek, we always have plenty of it in the kitchen, lol. Thank you so much, in advance Jade4Me. Hugs!![]()
I'm so glad you're feeling better everyday! Awww how sweet your furbabies had your back when you were feeling unwell! They really are a bottomless well of unconditional love and can be so sensitive and so in tuned to us! My furbaby is good thanks for asking! In fact unlike his mum (to use your terminology

As for my new grey black jadeite bangle having color polish, from older posts on this thread there has been awareness of color polish being used on some jadeite. This can be obvious with too good looking or too bright colors especially pooling in the surface cracks & pits. My bangle, which I've named Regina, had fake looking green color in her rough spots and surface fissures! I have a UV light that I bought to try to see if the polymers in my 2 known B grade bangles would glow - they don't so I need a different UV light for that... However, when I used it on Regina, the color polish in her surface cracks & pits glowed! From previous posts some may know that I've now self banded 2 bangles with sterling silver, and to clean off the extra epoxy I used rubbing alcohol with no harm done to the jade. So I used a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol on Regina and the green color that came off onto the cotton ball looked almost like I was taking fingernail polish off - it was so bright with a teal green color! The rubbing alcohol didn't remove it from the cracks & pits and so I went online looking for another way to try to remove it and acetone came up. Well the acetone didn't remove it either, but in a larger rough spot it was definitely less vivid. Unfortunately, since color polish is only a temporary surface treatment, sellers can still legitimately call jade with it A grade.
As for using olive oil on jade, I learned about this from a jade sister and older posts on this thread. Before reading about it here, I've also seen online mentions of using olive oil on jade to shine it up. I don't know if virgin olive oil or not matters. King, since you wear Nori 24/7, she gets sort of a similar treatment from your body oils. But I don't believe there's any harm in trying out an olive oil soak on her for an hour/hours/overnight. Some online sellers have also mentioned using mineral oil on jade, but I couldn't find clear guidelines for which purity or grade levels are OK since there are toxicity concerns out there about mineral oil. Whereas with olive oil that you are willing to ingest and cook with, and there are lots of beauty uses for it, too, I'm way more comfortable with using that on jade. I wipe off or wash off the excess olive oil with a little mild soap & water mainly so I don't get olive oil all over the place and onto my clothes!
