I've got a few book marked, but I also found another "ugly" jadeite bangle I can't keep my eyes off. lol
Not sure which to go for.

That's tough Tea. Did you have strong first impressions when you saw them? If you think back, was one feeling towards a bangle stronger then others? The reason I ask is that first impressions are the least conflicted and thought about often, therefore, more pure somehow. Taking your time is a good thing. And it's so fun to love and be passionate about jade choices!!
The reason I even considered a Hetian bangle is because of a Hetian buddha pendant I once had that came with a certificate. It was the softest, smoothest feeling jade i've ever felt. I know jade is hard, but it's difficult to describe what I mean by soft if you haven't touched Hetian jade. The thought of having a bangle with that texture draws me in.
The "ugly" bangle is jadeite, and I do love my jadeite. My idea on this one is that I wear Speckles as my everyday bangle and should she ever crack, I'd have a back up.
Neither are very expensive and I may go for both, but one at a time.
That sounds like the best idea because they are so completely different! I understand what you describe as the softness of hetian jade. It's delicate, soft, and luminous. So very beautiful. Jadeite has such a different beauty...,it would be really hard for me to decide too.
I think the best way to describe it is that it's like running your fingers through butter?
Oh does hetian feel soft too? It looks it! Like I feel like I can spot it in photos because it has a softer glow and not as hard looking as jadeite. I love how different the two types of jade are!
JKP: it's good u listened to your body and stopped. It would have been bad to be one of those passed out runners with heatstroke! Yikes!
GS: uh no on the gun. I'm pretty anti-gun but I think where I live, having a gun is actually unusual. I don't know anyone who owns a gun at all!

Am glad to know most of us don't like to carry a gun. But I do admire ladies in States who know how to use them. In Malaysia, it's very difficult to own a gun. And BB guns are illegal too.
