Congratulations on getting your bangle home in one piece, or should I say in this case, two. lol
I really love the hinge jade4me posted. I see so many hinged bangles that look so gaudy and people would focus just on the hinge and not the bangle. This type of hinge flows with the jade.

Funny as I sometimes say to the bf that I wish something bad would happen so I can lose a few pounds. Stress takes the pounds off wonderfully. Sad, but true.

Now that you have it, were you correct to conclude that it would be too small to put on if it was intact?
Jade4me, I actually think I might have been able to do it, but it would have caused major bruising, and then it would have been a permanent bangle. Somehow that was the most un appealing idea, to have one on which I couldn't easily take off. Then it would be hard to stack...larger ones in front would look kinda silly I think.
Tea, thanks! I totally agree with what you say about the hinge. I'm doing smooth greenish gold in an organic form with some blue/green pave Montana sapphires. Just a few so as not to distract. No gaudy ness allowed!!!

I can imagine your horror when she arrived in two pieces the first time you saw her that way. I would have had a moment of "oh my God what was I thinking?" Once she's put together you'll have a beauty on your wrist.

Lol you are right Tea! That's exactly what I was thinking! I felt anxious all day until I talked to the guy at the jeweler a supply who told me that anytime you start a completely new and challenging project, it's going to feel uncomfortable. I think that's so true. Anyway thanks for the reassurance because I need it lol!!

I can't believe Dawn's not home yet, but it does happen sometimes. It's been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting for my lavender bangle to arrive. It's the longest it's ever taken from China.
Maybe post is just running slower these days?An example of either I just haven't found my dream forever bangle or I'm just not meant to stay with one bangle forever. This morning before heading out I wore Maya. When I came home this evening, I had an urge to wear Sage, my light yellow green new nephrite. Who knows who I'll wear to bed tonight at this rate! In the wrong context this can sound kinda...hummm...
Jade4me, I do that too sometimes. I really don't think I'm a one bangle girl either. Sage and Maya are both beauties, though it's exciting to be open for a dream bangle to come into your life.
Mymeimioz, thank you for saying some of my jade bangles inspired you. I like different with lots of things going on in my jade. Kind of edgy.
GS, what beautiful pendants. Is the one you chose in the 1st photo, second from the left on bottom row? Just a guess, but it's pretty.

Baghera, I love your UJ bangle. I can't find anything in my size that they have and I've been looking for a long time. They do have my size, but nothing that has drawn me in. Not like te one you have.
Claire, I can't seem to take of Speckles and she's been glowing more daily. On my other hand Lavender blue has settled down nicely but I'll be changing her around soon. My Karma is seriously Cursed and I mean seriously. I sold her years ago as I was wearing her around the time my dad almost passed away and my dog did pass away. Though beautiful, I felt I needed her away from me. I missed how pretty she was for 5 years and traded her back. Now the same things are happening around me. People getting sick, thing's breaking down ect.. I really feel the urge to get her out of my house again. Almost to the point of burying her down the street. It's so weird.
As for the hair burning test, I tried that years ago and found that it did work on jade, but it also worked on some of my serpentine so I gave up on it as an accurate way to test for jade and nephrite.
