Ok I've got to praise Suzanne's corner. I bought William the lavender bangle which had a lot of stone lines. He wore it for a few hours and then a chunk of jade between 2 unhealed stone lines just fell out!
I wrote her about this because it was $35 which is not nothing, and she refunded the money, insisted I keep it and is sending a better one. Im going to epoxy glue it in the mean time.

Baghera, thank you! I'm eager to hear what the jeweler has to say too. I'm going to a new jeweler rather then the lady I have been going to, because though very skilled, she charges top dollar and I'd rather use the money on getting stones for the clasp. Yikes, I really hope she's good. Maybe I'll have a better sense after talking with her.

Your welcome! I think you can get to San Jose via BART but I'm not sure. Either way, I'm sure you will discover great things in San Fran! Please tell us all about your journey!?

The bangle I received had more of the grayish/dark green/olive green section than what I perceived in the pictures posted at Etsy. Again the colors vary in real life depending on the lighting. It has grown on me but I can part with it for a cause or gifting to a good friend/cousin. Could it be serpentine rather than nephrite as advertised...I don't know. Again I am not an experienced jade buyer.

Here is my latest from UJView attachment 2755053
Your princess bangle looks like nephrite to me. Your new UJ bangle looks very nice and glossy!

Thanks so much Jade4me! It looks like they cut a little out, but you are probably right. The ends will need to be ground down too.

I spoke to the jeweler who felt insecure about working with jade! So, I went down to the jeweler's supply and asked a well known man for some recommendations. He gave me the name of a guy who would be able to do this work really well. I also bought some wax, carving tools, and things I need to do a wax model of the clasp, so I can better design it. Then I can send that to him so he has a good idea, because he is not near by.

You have a hinged bangle if I recall correctly? In any case, here's pics of mine in case it may help.

Jade4me, I do have one, but seeing yours is really very helpful because the actual hinge is different on yours, and I like it better. Thanks so much for posting it. Gosh, I love the smooth gold work! Looks like they did a very quality job on it...it's gorgeous!

What a precious green color that is!

Thanks! I can't wait to see what you end up sculpting with the clay! :-)

Sisters, I am feeling strong and happy. I have a strong support network of close friends here and my family are supporting me from afar. My parents are coming end Oct (already previously planned) and my aunty's family for Christmas and NYE (also previously planned). So I will not be alone. And I have all of you. I will find my way through this in the right time. I am also getting support from a psychologist and my massage therapist / healer. So, good times ahead.
