Uli, that's a pretty choice "traveling bangle".

There was an Hermes thread awhile ago that did the same with a traveling twilly . They named the twilly and everything. I think if we do this, we should set up a separate thread for her, for exclusive traveling bangle pics. Fun! I'm in.

JP, can you please find out about setting up that separate thread for us now? We could start October 1st?

That's actually not a bad idea and I believe what your mum says.
Strangely, after I sold her, I couldn't let her go either. She stayed in my mind and came back to me. That kind of freaks me out. She had a chance to get over her issues in someone elses care, but came back just as mean. :(

It does happen sometimes when the previous owners were so connected with their stuff. 5 years ago my boss had her house built and decorated in French colonial style and searched for antique furnitures. She found out that a rich family had lots of their antiques for sale then the house after their parents passed away. The house itself had been offered for $10 mil. so you could assume how wealthy they were. She came in with an antique experts who also has "sixth sense" but she didn't know back then. The house was full of antique stuff, much more than normal for everyday use of a family, all in very good almost perfect condition, must worth lots of money. After looking at 2 or 3 rooms, her expert insisted to get out asap. On the way home she told my boss that there were many ghosts in that house, lying and sitting in the once their own antique stuff. What the heck! Later she found out that the house owner was a big pawn shop for many decades, they had under-valued to hell precious things brought to them by bankrupted or once-wealthy-now-downgraded family, who urgently need cash for their illness relatives or funeral, etc. The way they lost their precious or heirloom pieces were so painful and even when they die they could not let go but wandering around their stuff and without doubt will follow them to their new home. Well, antique pieces could be strongly connected to their onwers, both in good or bad way.

That's why I suggest you to drop her at not any but the most dark and awful pawn shop :sly: Then the bangle could not hurt anyone but the one who is strong enough and willing to take the risk, pawn shop owners
Good luck with your decision

Ok, now that just sent shivers down my spine. No need to watch a horror flick tonight.
I believe in this stuff. I was wearing the bangle the night my sister found my father in his bathroom with blood everywhere including the walls and he was seizuring. He lost 85% of his blood through his nose. It turned out to be a blood clot that went from his ankles up to his nose and then exploded! He survived but we did not think he'd make it. During that same time I lost the dog I had and strangely I had purchased the bangle right after getting my dog and I wanted it to symbolize the day I got him. Instead I feel it was the reason he got sick and we couldn't cure him. A lot of horrible things were going on then, and now that the bangles back, every time I wear it similar things happen. I keep saying it's my imagination, but it's gotten to the point I'm scared of her. I think I'll start looking around for pawn shops just in case something else happens. :(
I"m also going to isolate her from my other bangles just in case her bad voodoo jumps into my others. ;)

I'm just thinking, I got this bangle gojade 5 or 6 years ago, not handed down, not from an antique shop or second hand shop, which is why I have been fighting the idea she's cursed. I'm pretty sure all his bangles are new, so if she's cursed it would have to be from the ground she came from, right? Ok, I'm thinking too much. I love antiques and old stuff and my house is full of stuff like that. Even an 1849 water spout made of silver and porcelain, but never felt anything bad from the other stuff. Just her. :(

On average, I often wait 2-3 weeks for things coming from China, etc. Two weeks if I'm lucky... more often 3 weeks and some change.

But!

Someone needs to save me from myself. I have no fun money. It's all devoted to various bills and debts.

But SC has a beautiful carved bat bangle. A BAT! I have nothing in these colors and I already know I love bigger carved jade.

But sooo broke. Someone get her, please. :sos:

Fan, thanks for the reassurance. I usually get my packages within 2 weeks!
Going on 4 is killing me here. lol
JKP, it's gorgeous, but I'm on bangle ban for a bit here and that one is way past my budget. Best part is, she's not my size!!
I wish I could help you but she won't be coming to Canada. At least not to my house.
Anyone else want to join the bat club?

oh goodness, just went back and reread the pre-owned energy nightmares. That is scary!

I like my jade energy, but so far no negativity. I love my vintage beads and The Big Jade. I don't know what I'd do if my jade brought me bad luck.

Vintage Seahorse pendant has gotten many compliments and I just ran across another one with an intact fin. Same colors, in same carving style so I think that points to more toward dyed.

Tea, I also have a weird energy bangle. The specie of the jade is rare. So ya, it could be the stone itself.

Jkp, the SC bangle is luscious. Unfortunately I too am saving for the pendant I reserved, a Hetian bangle and a better quality jadeite bangle (end of this year). Sobs sobs...

News from Grace:
Her husband might have forgotten to write my name on the package so I doubt that I will ever receive it. Is this jade karma? :(
She has a similar one that she could send to me.

Hello ladies! Nothing much happening lately!

But I just bought a little peapod pendant. Didn't cost much. Wanted a little something to match with my bangle. What do you think? Whats the meaning of a peapod?

Thank you in advance!
