I've never tried the hair burning... too scared I'd wind up singeing my own fingers or cooking my jade. lol

So far Smoke has been on all week... switching wrists sometimes, but haven't put her out of rotation yet. Had a stack on the left that stayed for a couple days... and finally felt the need to change back to Cat.

Some more pics of my carved bangles. I think that square/flat shape is my favorite for the carved type.

Uli, sorry for the draggy wait. Please write and hope Grace give you a satisfactory reply.

On the pendants, I fall in love with those in the 2nd picture. But you are right. It's between the left and the 3rd one from left. Ended up reserving the 3rd one. Hard choice.

The Etsy seller was "hellobigc". The bangle dimensions were stated in the description. Shipping to the US took around 2 weeks. No tracking number was provided however. There were "twist carved bangles" too as well as princess rounds. The seller's inventory consisted of nephrite. No certification was provided. I am not a learned jade buyer but I believe the price was fair.

That is the seller I had seen! His pulldown menu is confusing and unnecessary if he's selling the exact item pictured. Are you happy with the bangle?

Ok, I got my oval in the mail today. I couldn't be happier with the jade quality and the way it looks. The only thing that is confusing to me is that they cut it at a slight angle, and it looks like the Kerf of the saw took off more then I imagined. I don't understand why they didn't make a straight cut as in my diagram. Im thinking they must have had a reason for this, because they have made hinged bangles there. I will ask tomorrow.
Anyway, it in no way affects the design of the clasp, so that's the important thing. I'll take pictures when the light is better (night time now).

Such a relief to hear the jade met/exceeded your expectations! :-) I can't wait to see your pics and hear about why the angled cut. Maybe to avert cracking or shattering by following a certain grain line? Totally guessing here! ;-)
