Ladies remember the story of Jade Disc of He (He Shi Bi) that left us wondering how the jade would look like? There is new type of jade unearthed in China called Jinyu with hardness between 8 and 10 degrees. The characteristics of Jinyu match the historic records of the jade (type) found by Bian He.

Smoke looks so lovely and chubby in these photos!No Uli, I've only dealt with jojo once and there was no trouble with my delivery. I did notice the package was not labelled accurately to reflect the bangle or its price. I already forget what it said it was, though.
Halloween decorations and costumes are available here now... I saw this claw bracelet and thought "I must show this to Uli!" so I took some pictures. I didn't buy the claws though! lol The jade bangle is Smoke.
While Mason Kay tests jade and provides test reports, they still defer to someone like GIA for official certification. For my goal of figuring out if Poly was B grade or A grade, this sufficed for me. If you have a precious jade piece that you want testing AND certification, then you would use someone like GIA. Hope this helps other jade sisters!

It was $95 for the test including polymer testing, plus return shipping by express FedEx signature needed, with the item insured for the amount you specify. In my case, the FedEx was $17. So my total was $112.
The Etsy seller was "hellobigc". The bangle dimensions were stated in the description. Shipping to the US took around 2 weeks. No tracking number was provided however. There were "twist carved bangles" too as well as princess rounds. The seller's inventory consisted of nephrite. No certification was provided. I am not a learned jade buyer but I believe the price was fair.
I think this is a wonderful idea, but because personal reasons and the fact I'd be terrified of breaking or losing her, I can't participate, but will have fun hearing stories of her travels.
