Chevron doesn't come every season. Somehow I still find the chevron looks nicer on you. It all boils down to your own preference. Don't get it because what others say but how you feel as you will be the ultimate owner
I normally also prefer quilt but somehow the chevron looks nicer on you!! Maybe it’s that particular piece! Hahah. Whichever you choose, you won’t go wrong with a black on black small gabby!
The chevron looks nice on you somehow.... maybe it's the shape of your shoes that really goes well with the chevron....
Also the chevron pattern makes the size of the bag more proportional / good size on you as compare to the guilt one....

I got the quilted. But the chevron looks really beautiful, and I would chevron if I had the option .

Finally decided to get the chevron, although I do think for some reason it is slightly smaller than the quilted one.
Looks great! I had the same dilemma as well and was fortunate that my SA had both for me to compare with. I ended up getting the chevron too as I loved the puffiness of it and didn’t want it to slouch (I got the medium size).

Congrats! The first time i went to the store, they only showed me the quilted one. I was still debating if this bag style really suits me, so i went to the store again. This time, they actually brought out the chevron and I instantly like it a lot more. After thinking long and hard, i do think that the chevron looks better on me and just like you, i do like the puffiness of it. The quilted one has a much thinner leather.
I also agreed that the chevron has a better structure compare to the quilted one.
Yes, the smooth calfskin bottom base is delicate and will scuff more easily than the quilted leather above the base. You must be very careful with the base. Otherwise, the Gabrielle is beautiful, understated elegance, and I'm glad I purchased it in a large size black on black.
