Alas, literally the day after I got input from you guys and made my decision, I had a very dramatic near-purchase of the bag on the bottom, which - due to an SA miscommunication and another SA wanting to make the sale - meant it got bought out from under me an hour before I would have gotten to the store. And it was the last one in Canada...and not a single one available in the US. This may haunt me for years to come.

You can wear it cross body if you want.
The chain is long might suit taller people but you I can wear it cross body nicely if I wrap the part of the chain closer to the bag.

Got this pre loved at a very good price in a very good condition last Sunday. Loving this bag for its uniqueness and versatility! First time Chanel has come out with a bag without flaps which I like it for everyday work bag. Flipping the flap up and down is a hassle and always have to make sure I don’t scratch the inner flap. Now I don’t have such worry on this!

Anyone own this bag in silver? I’m looking to purchasing one and silver looks so divine. How does the leather hold up? Does the silver peel and darken in any way? Any advice would be so greatly appreciated as I’m here debating if I should go with silver or just play super safe and get the black or navy combo. Thanks!

The Gabrielle bag grew on me. I don’t know when or how it happened but I am trying to decide what size would be best. I always thought the medium size would be it but now I am thinking the small size. I tried both in boutique a week ago. I bought the medium but I think I should get the small size instead. I don’t carry much and this is most likely a weekend/errands/going out bag.
Thoughts? Should I keep the medium? Or get a small. I am not getting the small in the color in the photo, just for reference.

The small is really small, slightly bigger than a rectangular mini only and it is harder to reach your hands in due to the small zipper opening. Can only fit a phone, few small pouches and lipstick. But i would say the small looks cuter and more dressy. For me, i have a number of small bags already and i want the gabrielle to be a work bag that is why i bought the medium. So if you are only bringing out for weekends and errands, maybe you should go for the small instead
