I just saw that Chanel is having a lot of the men walk with the larger size and that Pharrell Williams is one of the faces on the official Chanel site. I'm a guy who has always adored Chanel. A couple of months ago was lucky to happen across a Fall/Winter 06 Jacket for men, and I wanted wanted a bag to go with it. I'm undecided if this is the one that I want to spend all my money on. What is everyone's opinions on? I think he rocks it here, but this is a Chanel ad, so of course he does. (also loving the chains in place of pearls. I think I need to steal a couple of ideas to really Chanel up my outfits)

I think when you throw millions at a proven producer, entertainer, performer, and foothold in the music industry to wear a purse, he's going to wear a purse.
If you want to wear a purse--specifically the Gabrielle, you can do the same as well...you just won't have the backing of the "industry" to support you. But you'll definitely have tPF to enable you!
What I mean is, of all the bags that men wear here (Chanel, Hermes), I don't see the Gabrielle instantly as a masculine bag, and I've never seen Pharell wearing any type of bag in that manner; though I don't follow him in the fashion world. I just feel Chanel is really over-playing the Gabrielle when they don't even have to. It's an awesome bag.

The chains are not heavy at all and the mixed metal is so cool! The aged calfskin holds pretty well - there are some creases due to the drawstring design. The hard base is useful as it keeps the shape of the bag but scuff marks are quite visible if you look close. But it does not bother me that much due to the whole "rugged" look of the bag.
I intentionally made one of the chains longer than the other and DIY some stoppers (using buttons and elastic bands) to prevent the chains from moving when I carry it using one side of the straps. I use the longer chain to carry crossbody and the shorter one for when I want to sling it on one side. Maybe some pictures will help:

Thank you for the photos! The backpack is so cool! Is there a zipper inside the bag? Does contents inside fall out easily?
I have the medium. There is a zipper on one side of the interior, pockets on the other side.
Nothing falls out, even when it has fallen over on the car passenger seat with it left unzipped.

pharrell is the bomb!!! he exudes confidence and looks great rocking that alligator gabrielle hobo. the man can do no wrong and he looks so good in the necklaces and brooches. having said that, you could put this bag on a tree branch and i would still think it's awesome!! haha love the gabrielle line, my fav is the hobo, then the backpack. i say GO FOR IT!! my cousin is getting the large all black one and he plans to carry the s*** out of it!!

I've seen Pharell wear Moynat and LV too so I think this is really close to his style (as opposed to just being styled for the Ad). And the Gabrielle really looks good on him.

I have the medium, and for some reason I carry it without a care. It's one of those rare bags I spent $$$$ on, but I'm very casual about how I handle it- I haven't babied it from the minute I paid for it. It's just awesome and hardy made!!!

Yes ! I couldn't agree more. I did spray mine (I have the large shopping tote) because I want to carry it even if it unexpectedly rains without worrying too much. It's such a great bag that dresses up and down so easily. And the tote holds a ton.

Hi there is no zipper on the inside of the backpack - only 1 small pocket inside which can fit an Iphone7
The Gabrielle Bag with the charms is finally out. What are the Gabby fans' thoughts? I had it reserved with a boutique when I saw it on the runway and on social media, and hoped that it would be *heavily* tweaked before release.
I like it...but might be a bit too pop culture for me. Especially with the "Chanel" inside the candle. What do you all think?
