Congrats to you! Finally you got the bag. I remember reading your post and glad u finally got ur hands on it! Enjoy wearing it!

It is one of my favorite at the moment!

Dear zoesassynuo,

Yes you still remember! I was struggling between the seasonal colors but decided to wait for the black and finally it came!

i am so excited and can't wait to take her out :)

I mean wrap”, not “rap”. Lol. I don’t know if that mistake was spellcheck or me.

P.S.: Stuff it with air paper (packing bubble sheets) before placing your chains on the top. I’ve stopped using tissue paper because my Chanel and Hermes SAs said tissue paper can discolor the interior of a bag over time. I think it has something to do with paper absorbing moisture. Hermes only packs bags with air paper now, at their boutiques. Chanel boutiques still use tissue paper, so after a purchase you‘ll need to buy your own.

Thank you dear Sourisbrune!

It is a good trick with air paper - I didn't know that tissue would possibly discolour the interior! I will definitely switch to air paper for all my bags!

Gently/loosely fold the chains and place them inside the bag. Leave it unzipped, but straighten-out the leather part of the zipper- you don’t want it crinkled or wonky. Make sure it’s adequately stuffed so that it doesn’t begin to deflate/crinkle on the aged calfskin sides. Never rap your chains around the base, that action will leave permanent little teeth-like marks in the hard base.

Congratulations on your new bag! :happydance::yahoo::tup:

Think Gabrielle is a bit like Boy when it comes to storage. I also put the chains inside the bag and leave the leather piece out but Gabrielle is a bit more tricky with many chains :p I also read someone has marks of the chain on the base and I will definitely be careful about it!

Thanks for your tips :)

Dear all,

So I finally got the small black Gabrielle today and I am so over the moon!! I saw it in store back in March this year and was not impressed like many others, but when I see it more and the more I am drawn to it! I started searching actively from May but couldn't really find any in the specific combo I wanted...until Monday I got the magical text from my SA that the bag has come in! I grabbed it immediately and it just arrived today

Now I have a simple (yet complicated) question to all the Gabby owners - how do you store the bag? It is not like all my other Chanel bags where I can just tug the chains inside the flap so I am not sure what to do.

Any suggestions? TIA

Sorry forgot to add pics. I fold the chains on top, but sometimes I leave part of the chain rest cross the bag. Im using this bag everyday so I do not storage like my other Chanel bags. :) xx

The only concern with storing the chains on top is the weight of the chains eventually bowing the leather inward at the top of the bag.
Leaving belongings in the bag or long term storage with air paper, I’d still store the chains inside (atop my things) with the leather part of the strap above the zipper.
I’m sure there are probably a few different ways that work.

I find with this bag, the top is very hard and the chains are not so heavy. I would agree with you if I left for long periods of time, but as i am wearing the bag everyday I dont see any issues. :)

Amazing information! Thank you Sourisbrune. This is a wonderful use for the plastic that is polluting our planet....

Hi Ladies,

I totally falled in love with the small black hobo Gab in calfskin.

I live in Paris and called every Chanel stores : sold out in entire France .
It is simple : I thought about that bag every f.....g minute, even in my dreams.
Did you say obsession ? ... naaaa !...

A friend advised me to go to the Paris’ stores asking for my baby in person.
So, today, I went to 4 different Chanel ... and the last one (I waited one hour in the queue before entering in the store), a wonderful SA learned me that 5 small black gabby were available at « Chez Colette » ...
http://www.colette.fr/events/chanel-at-colette/

I jumped into an uber to 213 rue saint Honoré, and my heart barely explosed.
My baby was here, waiting for mummy :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Her 4 sisters quadruplets (the only ones in all the country for the moment) are waiting a loving mother ... If I was you, I’d try to call them : +33‭155353390‬

I know they also have medium ones but not in black anymore.

I share my happyness, a long time ago I didn’t fell so much for a bag.

PS : a good review on this beauty (it is not me, my english is, unfortunely, far from Sassy) :

Sorry for that long message but sincerly hope it will help.

Dear all Gabrielle owners, how is the base of your bag holding up so far? I got mine a week ago and have used it twice (and be careful with it) and found two small tiny marks on the base today. I guess it’s normal but I kind of feel a bit sad and nervous [emoji45]

I can’t handle lamb at all because I am paranoid if the bag will get scratches so most of my bags are caviar and only two distressed calf (reissue and small Gabrielle).

I guess I should just go ahead and enjoy the bag without worrying too much but I still find myself checking my bags often while I’m carrying it...is it normal or should I just stick to caviar for good?

I really like the bag and hope I could be more carefree......

Hi- I've been looking at the navy/black combo and the solid black one in medium. I don't live near a Chanel store, so having to go strictly by photos. Are you still happy you got the navy/combo?
I adore mine  I did try them all and fell in love with this combo so chose it over the all black and the beige/black. Having said that I think it also depends on what you already have in your collection and also your wardrobe. Good luck deciding!

I am very carefree with my gabby and I haven’t seen any real scratch after 6 months of almost daily use. I think the base can withstand a lot. Will take some pics of mine when I get home to show you. But then again I guess different people have different levels of tolerance when it comes to marks on their bags. If it really bothers you that you have to baby your bag all the time, then I’d stick to caviar going forward so you can really enjoy wearing it.
