I do take care when wearing this bag and shield it from walls/corners, but it still bumps from time to time. I have no visible scratches or wear. I did hit the middle bottom at some point, which caused the leather to skip slightly, leaving small ripples of leather as opposed to smoothed out. I was able to flatten the leather out for the most part by buffing with clean fingers in a circular motion. Buffing made the skid marks barely noticeable when looking at it up close.

Thank you! And yes I agree that the person with the above pictures must have let it slide on hard pavement while skateboarding ! :P

I can report no scratches nor issues with either of my Gabrielle.
I agree, the bag on sale at Fashionphile was put through extraordinary circumstances to become so damaged.

Hi,

I have the white and black gabrielle backpack and have used it for 3 weeks nonstop. I do admit that I baby that bag but I can honestly say that even after 3 weeks of wearing and even dropping the bag TWICE on the the ground as I was getting out of the car, that there are ZRRO scratches on it. I love the backpack. It's hardier than you think. I wouldn't worry *too* much about it.:hugs:

As for the bag on fashionphile, I cannot imagine what that poor bag was put through but it does seem to be unusual.

Dear all,

So I finally got the small black Gabrielle today and I am so over the moon!! I saw it in store back in March this year and was not impressed like many others, but when I see it more and the more I am drawn to it! I started searching actively from May but couldn't really find any in the specific combo I wanted...until Monday I got the magical text from my SA that the bag has come in! I grabbed it immediately and it just arrived today <3

Now I have a simple (yet complicated) question to all the Gabby owners - how do you store the bag? It is not like all my other Chanel bags where I can just tug the chains inside the flap so I am not sure what to do.

Any suggestions? TIA :)

Gently/loosely fold the chains and place them inside the bag. Leave it unzipped, but straighten-out the leather part of the zipper- you don’t want it crinkled or wonky. Make sure it’s adequately stuffed so that it doesn’t begin to deflate/crinkle on the aged calfskin sides. Never rap your chains around the base, that action will leave permanent little teeth-like marks in the hard base.

Congrats to you! Finally you got the bag. I remember reading your post and glad u finally got ur hands on it! Enjoy wearing it!

It is one of my favorite at the moment!

I mean wrap”, not “rap”. Lol. I don’t know if that mistake was spellcheck or me.

P.S.: Stuff it with air paper (packing bubble sheets) before placing your chains on the top. I’ve stopped using tissue paper because my Chanel and Hermes SAs said tissue paper can discolor the interior of a bag over time. I think it has something to do with paper absorbing moisture. Hermes only packs bags with air paper now, at their boutiques. Chanel boutiques still use tissue paper, so after a purchase you‘ll need to buy your own.
