The strap on the hobo Gabrielle is fixed, so it won't come off, but if you really wanna use it as a clutch you could always put the strap inside the bag and held the bag as a clutch. BUT the more interesting way to clutch the hobo bag is to wrap the strap around your wrist AND hold the bag as a clutch, thus giving you the clutch and bracelet look.

The only one (that I know so far) with the detachable strap is Gabrielle shopping tote, both the large and the smaller one.

Thank you ydhydh. I remember you holding it as a clutch! I followed you on instagram. Lots of great pictures. You wear your accessories so well. i would have never thought i like the gabrielle, now I love it. Thanks

Thank you so much for the compliments hehe, I didn't do much as the accessories really spoke for themselves :). Oh I think I'm wrong and what @Sourisbrune said is true, I took a second look at the strap and realize that it could be unfastened and released, so you could remove it. But, knowing that now, I still prefer to just put it inside the bag/wear the bracelet thingy so that the leather part of the strap not manipulated too much. You should give the Gabby a try, when you look at the mirror you'll fell in love for sure ;)

You can see the "button" in GHW and SHW and the slit/hole on the leather strap? I suppose you could detach it and separate it, thus making the chain change from a loop-form into a long chain, with both the leather part at the ends. Then you could just pull the strap to release it from the metal ring where it supposed to be sat on. Do you get it? So sorry I can't provide you with the pics from my own Gabby, as I don't want to manipulate the leather part as it could leave a mark/got somewhat loose on the slit part. Hope that helps
