glad to hear good things about the mini leopard as I just got one! I noted someone else said that she did not like the Alexa leathers - I also just got an oversized cream with rose gold and love it apart from the fact that it marks immediately. Any advice to reduce this?

Ill have a go (Jazzy, MMad - please correct as you sit fit)

Congo - This is the original large scale printed leather that Mulberry made. It is a mock croc and has a matt shine, the print is quite raised almost puffy. It is lovely - a very high quality leather.

Mississippi - a smaller scale mock croc and comes in two finishes: (1) a very dry matt and (2) a very shiny finish

Imperial/Nile/Tiber - smaller scale croc/almost large lizard print, almost patent shine

Kenya (now called printed Vegetable tanned) - a mixed sized scale mock croc/lizard print, matt shine - a very lovely leather

Reptile - this is a leather specailly created for the outlets in the UK. Sales Assts WRONGLY call this Congo - it is no where near the quality of the original Congo. It is a large scale mock croc and it has a very flat matt finish to it.

I think there is also Amazon, right? Or is it identical with any of the above?

Has anyone got a lightweight antiqued leather bag? My newly arrived mini mabel is made from this leather and I don't know whether I should collonil it or not? Care card doesn't tell me to but I'm afraid to take it out in case it rains!!!

cathk, I had a medium Mabel in choc antique leather and found it wasn't necessary to collonil it...the leather has a kind of waxed finish I think so was very good at coping with damp derbyshire weather! Chocolate was particularly easy to look after tho. I don't know if anyone else with a lighter coloured mabel would offer differing advice ?!:smile1:

I have exactly the same question!!

I compared the price between NaP and Mulberry.com, and the comparable products (oak and black natural (or stamped) leather) are of the same price now: $950.

In addition to the description as to what type of leather they use to make these bayswater, I've noticed that the hight of the bag is slightly different --on Mulberry.com it is 11" and on NaP is it 10". I couldn't help but wondering if they are selling the same products.

Another thing, on NaP, the interior compartment of the black bayswater is different from the oak colored one.

Ahhhhhh, so confusing.

Have anyone bought bayswater from either website recently? Can you share your experience? Thanks!! :D

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase my first Mulberry bag. I like the look and description of the bayswater in oak or black. My dilemma is the type of leather. On NaP the bayswater in both Oak and black are classified as stamped leather. However on the .com it states that the oak and black bayswater are natural leather. Both sites have different prices too with NaP being the cheaper one. Is there a difference in leather quality if I purchase the bayswater from NaP? Or is stamped leather actually natural leather?

Tia!! :)

Bella.

I can't help you in regards to the height difference but it could be an approximation. If you're really concerned then email mulberry.com and ask them to verify which height is correct.

As for the stamped natural leather, I emailed mulberry.com a while ago because no one in these forums were able to answer my question. Mulberry said that the leather on their oak & black bayswater are exactly the same as the ones listed on net-a-porter.

Hi I saw this question posted early in the thread but not sure it was answered and as I am curuios as well - here goes:
Is there a real difference between congo and printed leather? For my untrained eye Congo looks a bit more attractive and glossier, or is that just from age? The printed bags I have seen lately don't seem to have the same "feel" about them or am I just imagining things?

This thread seems to be dormant for the past few weeks but...here's hoping!

Can anyone tell me whether the mini mabel was made in matt glove? I am confused cos I've just bought and received a fuschia mini mabel from Ebay. I already have an ocean mini mabel and (in comparison) I'm happy that the bag is authentic BUT seller included a care card that says the bag is matt glove leather. The leather on my new fuschia mabel looks and feels identical to my existing ocean mini mabel which is lightweight antiqued leather.

Any thoughts...should I be suspicious? I will post pics of my new bag to the authenticate thread this evening, just to allay my fears.

Thoughts/information would be appreciated!!:confused1:

Cath - if it's fuschia, it will be the lightweight antique leather. I think the seller has put an incorrect care card with it; I've seen this happen before and it is confusing! Best to add to the Authentication thread, as you have mentioned just so that you are 100% happy! :smile1:
