Can someone shed some light on spazzalato leather and how that ages? Thank you

I had a raspberry spazzalato EW bays. She was beautiful. But the colour wore off in areas were she rubbed, such as the corners, the top of the flap and the handles. She was also prone to creasing where the leather was but under strain.

I've got a raspberry spazz Maggie wallet which I love, but more for the style than the spazz. Oddly enough, it hasn't creased at all, but the colour has become a little patchy i.e. lighter in random areas all over, not just the corners. On the plus side, I've found it to be a durable and practical leather, it has a lovely gloss and it smells gorgeous. I wouldn't buy spazz again though, cos of the fading colour.

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase my first Mulberry bag. I like the look and description of the bayswater in oak or black. My dilemma is the type of leather. On NaP the bayswater in both Oak and black are classified as stamped leather. However on the .com it states that the oak and black bayswater are natural leather. Both sites have different prices too with NaP being the cheaper one. Is there a difference in leather quality if I purchase the bayswater from NaP? Or is stamped leather actually natural leather?

Tia!! :)

Bella.

We need pics on this thread don't we? Can we start to add photos to this with any rarer leathers and indeed the more standard ones, there are some that I still would not know in real life........that would be cool!

I also wanted to chime in and ask about the hardiest "smooth" skin? I live in OH and the winters here can be brutal. I also hate being particular about taking my bag out in the rain. I have an older box Hermes kelly that I NEVER use b/c I'm too freaked out to take it in the elements.

Hi all,
I'm so glad that you have shed light on spazzalato as I wasn't sure exactly what it was - but it seems from what I have read here that it is a patent leather. Rather like the Bays e/w in rose though!

Can I add something else to the mix? Luella bags were made by Mulberry. I have a turquoise Luella Gisele bag. The leather is thick with a lovely grain, but I'm new to Mulberry and have no idea what this leather is. Does anybody know? TIA!

What about the metallic glove leather? How does it age?
I have my eyes at a silvery/greyish metallic glove Bays...

Metallic glove is a lovely thick leather that has a luxury foil finish. That finish wears over time to expose the glove leather underneath. The Bronze version rubs to Pewtery silver, giving the leather a distressed look. I understand that the Pewter verion rubs to a green colour.

Hi, after much searching I have just become the proud owner of a pre-loved black cracked leather Bays clutch. It is in very good condition and I was after some advice on how to protect it. Will collonil spray be ok on this type of leather?
Many thanks in advance
Sara
