This may have been addressed before, so apologies if I missed it. If anyone can point me to where that's great too:

I just purchased a petit NOE new. Very excited to have found this style. TERRIFIED of the bottom vachetta. I'm interested in the patina champ method but would love to hear if there's anything I can do immediately to protect the bottom but still allow it to patina. I always see vintage ones with huge liquid stains on the bottom and I want to avoid that as much as possible.

Hi,
I know exactly what you mean... I bought brandnew because there was no NOE in decent condition...

I protect my Vachetta with Collonil Nanopro Spray (something like apple garde)
And yes -even if a lot of people find that stupid or not necessary- I sprayed my brandnew Noe ... :hrmm:
just because I would totally freak out about the light vachetta and eventually end up NOT using it at all.

I‘ve been there with other Vachetta bags which I then sold
Still in love with Azur/Monogram I bought a new azur bag and just sprayed it as an experiment... well aware that this also might have gone wrong... :oh:

I now own only two bags with Vachetta (Speedy Azur and Noe Monogram) and I have treated both. I dont regret it, I use them constantly and they do patina.
I grab them with slightly wet hands ( for example from holding a cold drink)- I‘ve carried them through light rain showers without running to my car or wrapping them in a plastic bag and I set down my Noe when I need to (not on the floor!!!) .....I can just enjoy them now. :amuse:

But that is just me ... Other people swear on baby wipes ...
you just have to try for yourself!
Let us know how you decide!

Hi Noe lovers!

I finally succumbed to the "Noe bag virus" after years of admiration from afar, talking myself into getting one and then talking myself out of getting one.

Got my Noe GM from the pre-loved market (is 280usd a steal?) and it has been so liberating to use a pre-loved piece without the worry of ruining the leather. Its my work bag now. I didn't except that I would enjoy as much as I did :P!

I posted a separated thread requesting some cleaning advice for this bag (https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/how-to-clean-off-greyish-tint-from-lv-vachetta-leather.1011148/); if you have any similar encounter or helpful advice to give, I would really appreciate it!

Very happy to join this club and here is the "symptom" of my "infection"!

Here’s my Spring fling- Noe BB. My first azur piece. I added a melie strap and drawstring keeper from Mcraftleather. I love this bag. Holds a lot and is so light weight! View attachment 4411553
Love!!! Question re the strap- even on the shortest length, I’m guessing it sits nowhere near ‘shoulder bag’ length?! Listed as crossbody, but wondered how low down the bag sits on the shortest length...

My Noe came in yesterday from Fashionphile and I was so excited but there is cracking on the strap that wasn’t disclosed. There’s also a stain in the bottom that was disclosed but not pictured, but it’s really not bad. The bag is 31 years old (I wanted one made in 1988 bc that’s my birth year) so part of me thinks I should keep it. I paid $595 for it. I know eventually I can replace all the vachetta.

What would you do? Any advice is appreciated.

I would return. Recently I paid $500 for a petit noe in great condition. Got the bag and it was very beautiful but seller didn't disclose the crack on the strap nor any picture posted showing the crack on the strap. They offered $35 refund but I didn't accept and returned it back to seller. I then bidded on another item on eBay and won for $203. I've made up my mind to purchased preloved and change all the vachetta which I have consider the cost of the repairs. May end up being around $800 to $1K. Good luck with your decision.

thanks for weighing in! I know the repair would be costly, thanks so much.

Hi! I have a 1990 petit noe with some cracks on the straps and trim. Went down to LV for a quote to replace all vachetta except for the base as it' s in good condition. Was quoted Sgd450 (around $320 USD) to the handle, trim and both sides vachetta. Quote seems lower than recent quotes posted on this thread. So I am thinking they quoted wrongly. If I send in for repair, will it be likely that the price will change after they repair or is the price quoted upon sending in considered final? Thanks!

Just did mine today She asked if I was a client. Gave her my cell # and she was able to see all my purchases. She mentioned I got a good price on my petit noe for $400. Had no idea where or how she saw that information. But this bag was purchased preloved from Japan. The lace was not original but still in good condition,. She examined the bag less than 2 minutes. Look for the date code and enter the info. I wanted to replace all vachetta and was quoted $660. She asked if I wanted a new lace which is $60 and I said no. Would be 6 to 8 weeks and pay when it's ready. She noted on the quote 'Bag was well loved. inside a little of debris. Client wants all leather replace. Client will use her old lace".
