She's here!

Guess the Noe GM is not discontinued after all. I spoke to a different SA today when I picked it up and was told that they aren't making as many because there is less of a demand now that they have the neo noe. I'm loving the bag more than I thought. It's been awhile since I've had such bright vachetta.. Hopefully we'll have some nice days soon so my girl can get a tan!

Top pic is with my old cracking and thinning cord and the bottom is after purchasing a Rawlings catcher's mitt lace from their lacing kit. Picked it up at my local sporting good store. It's real leather and I don't mind this at all for my bag since it feels sturdier and matches my patina great. The price was right too.

Bottom pic is with my grommets polished finally and new cord laced through.

Cord matched perfectly!! Nice...

Noticed a crack on the strap while cleaning the bag which seller did not disclose in the description
Wonder how much it would be to get a replacement strap?

I use Brasso to clean the hardware. Any brass cleaner will remove the tarnish. I'd try the bag out for awhile and see if you love it. If so, take it in and get a quote on the strap. You might just decide to get all the vachetta replaced as well. In the end it might come out slightly less than purchasing a new bag, but you have nice canvas and hardware.

I have been looking for a good condition preloved petit noe for a while. From the seller pictures, the bag looks really good for being almost 20 years old. There were no stain inside which is a plus. I guess a crack on the leather strap is possible with the age of the bag. I went the preloved route after reading comments about canvas being better quality/thicker. I will take it in and get a quote to see how much it would be to get all the vachetta replaced. I bought the bag for $500. Thank you for your reply.

This may have been addressed before, so apologies if I missed it. If anyone can point me to where that's great too:

I just purchased a petit NOE new. Very excited to have found this style. TERRIFIED of the bottom vachetta. I'm interested in the patina champ method but would love to hear if there's anything I can do immediately to protect the bottom but still allow it to patina. I always see vintage ones with huge liquid stains on the bottom and I want to avoid that as much as possible.
