Did you get your new boy?? I finally decided on the shiny caviar chevron with bright silver hardware and love it. It is perfect except when closed the flap sticks up a bit from the body of the bag and I can see the post. However, it does stay closed. My SA said it is due to the thickness of the caviar and is not a concern?? Does yours do this too?
I think that’s normal. Unfortunately my new boy bag had flaw in the leather on the very front of the bag so I ended up returning it... I’m going to give chanel a break for now, it’s been exhausting going through returns twice already for one bag in a months timespan. Hope you enjoy your new bag!!!
Hi everyone, I got my first boy two weeks ago in velvet. I brought it home but then individuals started telling me how the fabric won’t hold up and how a tiny rain drop would ruin it. I also have a dog so fur would stick to it like a mother. I looove the colour though and the velvet makes the bag pop and look unique. However, I knew that the velvet will look very worn in a couple of years so I decided to go for a leather version instead. I was looking for a similar colour, a muted/dusty pink but the store did not have any. I ended up with a black chevron so I paid more for it. The next day, I totally regret exchanging it. Does any one know if Chanel will allow me to do an exchange a second time? It would still be 14 days from the initial purchase.

It should be fine to do an exchange again... but I’m gonna tell you the same thing your friends told you - velvet won’t hold up well. My friend’s velvet Boy (it was the same purple one the little boy was carrying on the runway from many many seasons ago) did not hold up well and last time I saw it, it looked very dirty.
The dusty pink is just so beautiful. I think you can exchange a second time, doesn't hurt to ask.
As long as you don't use it as an everyday bag, or throw it around (and keep a lint brush to take off dog hair), then I think you'll have it forever in good condition.
Hi I got my first boy bag a this past week and I decided to inspect it yesterday even though I had already worn it once. I found a gap on the hardware on the right side of the bag and it’s causing the hardware to not be sitting completely flushed to the leather. The left side looks ok and is flushed to the leather. Is this something I should be concerned about? I texted my SA and he said that I shouldn’t be concerned because a lot of the boy bags in store are like that. I’ve attached pics. What do you guys think?

I don’t think that’s normal. I’ve never seen one with gap like that myself. I would go back to the store and look at others to compare at least. Good luck!
Thank you for your responses. I decided to stick with the black caviar chevron boy instead of the velvet. The leather is only about $800 more so I can’t justify the price of having velvet and not being able to wear it more often. I’ve seen the posts here though and some individuals recently got the black caviar chevron in ruthenium or shiny gold hardware. Does anyone know if that combo comes in the small size as well? I was told the small only had the shiny silver and I’m not really loving it...not sure if the SA just wanted to make a quick sale.
