Hi there! New to posting; but have a friend who is headed to Paris and I really want to take the plunge on the new medium boy bag-- caviar with black hardware. I live in the US-- has anyone gone recently and have a general idea of what the ultimate cost difference would be after VAT, etc. The purchase would be made in Paris. Also trying to figure out the best way to see what color options they may have out in gold hardware right now-- so any suggestions on how to figure that out would be appreciated too! Thanks in advance for any insights!!

Hi! I just bought my medium boy in caviar leather in August 2019 in Paris. It came out to be about ~$4,200 after the currency exchange and VAT refund. Hope this helps!

It is pretty shiny, like they put another extra coat on it. It’s definitely glossier than the caviar classic flap I have but I love it! This bag made my classic clap look dull.

the hardware is shiny silver, depending on the lighting it could look a bit light gold.

I was worried about it being too dressy too but honestly I love wearing it with my jeans! I think the shiny silver hardware and shiny caviar offer the options of dressing up or down!

Thanks - I really like the shiny silver and a SA who has one (will have to be sent to me) agrees that it is not that sparkly in regular light. I did try one on with the ruthenium but the ruthenium made the bag dull to this one and definitely looked more casual. A Chanel bag is so expensive that when I am buying one I over think my decision so much!!!!

You are not alone in having a hard time deciding :) when I started looking for a boy bag for real I was set on getting one in calfskin and gold hardware, then I saw the 20p version and just grew to love it. Hope to see your new bag soon!!
