I saw the chevron caviar boy.. the leather seems like the 17P, only it is slightly less shiny.. the leather seems sturdy but the shiny pebbles are just like the 17P which can peel or scuff easily. Wanna to get it but the moment I saw the peeling at the bottom and the side of the bag, I hold my bullet.. for those who have this chevron caviar bag, pls share the wearing as I do love the look plus is black lining

Please welcome my first boy...usually, don't feel the boy is a bag that suits me well. However, I fell in love with the 16C purple iridescent mermaid bag when it came out, decided against it at the boutique (was too expensive for a non-classic bag), then regretted it and of course it was sold out everywhere - been looking for one ever since. Got it "preloved" (maybe worn once?) with the full set, looks like new and I couldn't be happier! Of course I paid more but well, lesson learned

Hi guys, I've recently just purchased the chevron caviar boy and I spotted chipping around the edges!! The corners of the bag have a tiny scuff and there's one spot on the side of the bag that has a little bit more chipping going on. At first I didn't know it was a chipping so I rub the corners with a cloth and those peelings were gone with no sign of color peeling off or anything. But then I saw the side of the bag and I just read comment from @Ice24 then I knew for sure that it was a peeling/chipping situation.
So, I just got the bag and I'm totally in love with it. I'll try to contact my SA but if I couldn't exchange it should I just keep the bag since the peeling doesn't really show a different color or texture on the bag. Please help me think guys

Niceeee! Iridescent purple with iridescent is just too beautiful! Did u had to pay like about 1.5k higher than retail? Since u had just purchased recently you should be able to send it in to boutique for a repair. Exchange is only valid for 14 days. If u r able to exchange that will be great if not just send it in for a repair and keep it. Its good that the peeling does not show any difference in colour or texture plus it's at the spot u hardly see.

I was so excited to know Chanel has the caviar chevron boy with ruthenium. I'm currently on the waiting list for one. However, with the peeling and chipping issues that are starting to surface, I'm hesitant. For those who have purchased and used it, do you have the same experience with the leather as Sira23? I'm curious to know whether it's a consistent issue with all the new chevron caviar. Your input is greatly appreciated!

I hope it is not for every other chevron boy as I really love this bag. I looked through the bag and see no other peeling or chipping on the bag except on the edges so if I get a chance to get another I'll keep my eyes on the edges of the bag.
Originally, the bag was €3700 and I paid €5200 now. So yeah, it's €1.5k more than the retail price in 2015. However, I had set myself a limit of €5500 as I've seen the bag selling for €7k and more in Europe even without invoice etc...

Over here I saw one preloved selling fullset by a reseller higher by aud1.2k over retail and has a small scratch (leather scratched off) at one of the bag corner. As much as I love the bag I couldn't justify myself spending over retail for a bag with such wear and tear. Agree with you. However, with Chanel's recent price increases, I can imagine people will be willing to shell out even more for that bag, especially since it's really outstanding. But yeah, it hurts, especially when you receive the receipt and can tell what it originally cost.
But you'll definitely get more use out of your black bag! I can only see myself wearing the purple one on special occasions.
Yeah...that purple is a very outstanding piece, I've only noticed its' availability after I got my black in store. It's hrd for me to resist purple as it's my fave colour. Although it does hurt a bit to see the price on the receipt but I find still best to have a receipt as a piece of mind that the bag is authentic when u buy from a reseller. I think the bag does looks good when u dress up casually too, its such a beautiful and unique bag. Do bring her out a bit more often and enjoy ur extraordinary Boy bag!! [emoji1]
