Bought my Cerf in Aug and after using the long strap after a day, my bag changed shape! :cursing:

Now, the magnetic button has fallen off!

I am SOOO mad!

Took it back and they've taken it off me to fix the button, but said there is nothing they can do about the shape. I am so mad as I asked a sales lady at Chanel, Hong Kong, if the long strap will make the bag wonky, as it needs to be clipped on diagonally. She said no. Based on this, I asked my friend to buy me the bag from Chanel, Paris. I expect much higher quality from Chanel, and a much better after-sales service too.

To summarize, I bought the Cerf, it changed shape due to the long strap and their design error, the magnetic button fell off, and now I have to wait 6wks - 6months for the bag to get back to me. All that bother for a £2000 bag that I bought only 4months ago.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Sorry to hear about your experience. So far I've never heard this problem for anyone else I know with this bag. So it may be an unfortunate situation that it happened to you. I would definently speak with a manager and express your frustration and see if there is anything they can try to offer you for your inconveniences. As for the shape, the only thing I can suggest for you is to try using a base shaper for your bag to hopefully keep it's shape

At the time (july 2012) the dollar was stronger than the euro so with the whole tax back I paid around $1900 with the VAT tax refund.

The price may have gone up so find out the price in euros from the thread and use an online currency converter. I think I paid 1650 euros which currently is $2266.

I bought my Cerf in February & I was worried about this happening since it is such a strong magnet pull! It is a gorgeous bag, it is unfortunate after all your spent on it that it is falling apart!!!

Hello ladies!
Im thinking on purchasing the cerf tote for my sister and would love to have recommendations about the sizes as well as colors are best for her....She's 23yrs old and 1m59. Please help me as I dont know much about the cerf tote and I cant go to store to check it because I have a baby...I will ask my hus in France to purchase it for me and he also doesnt know anything about bags :)

I would recommend the black with gold hardware in the regular (medium/classic size). I think it's perfect for running errands and a very sophisticated bag. Just to give you an idea this size cerf tote is similar to the popular size of the Hermes birkin....hope this helps
