I have been seriously considering getting a cerf tote for a couple weeks now but I'm worried about the strap drop. I want to be able to wear it with the attached straps over the shoulder and its going to be very full. I have a gst and the straps are the perfect length. What do you think about the cerf tote, is it comfortable to wear, and could any one measure the handle drop for me? I greatly appreciate any help! Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply ... but I took this baby on vacay for the whole month of July. I used it all month long ... took it on the plane, shopping, basically everywhere except for the beach and Disneyland/Legoland. I think it still looks gorgeous, I even bought it a lil' twilly on vacay. I haven't treated my bag, I just wipe it down with baby wipes.

This technically isn't a cerf, it is an executive tote. Is this the one you mean?
If it is, I have seen them recently. I saw one at Saks in Cleveland about a month ago.

I didn't know it's two different bag.
I have yet to wear my bag yet because I am concerned about two things.
When you first get it and it's all wrapped up, of course it feels very stiff and very boxy. The bottom of the bag seems hard. Does that loosen up a lot? I know the bag melts after wearing it, but does the bottom of the bag get softer? Cuz it seems a little uncomfortable on the shoulder when your arm rests over the bag. I hate bags that feel like cardboard is on the bottom.
Then my other concern is does this bag easily transform from day to a casual night? My Medallion has no problems doing that, but does the Executive look a little weird to use at night to a casual dinner or movie or whatever. Nothing fancy of course.

I have the old Cerf, not Executive, but I use it almost daily and it has gotten nicely broken in and floopy, not stiff at all

I am very interested in purchasing my first chanel bag. I recently noticed a picture of ashley olson with a CHANEL CERF TOTE. A classic black one (picture below).

My question is : how much is it retailing for? With taxes? Are there any changes to the leather? I really love the one she has, the leather looks so soft and buttery from what i can see, i like the fact its slightly structured but still has that slight slouch to it!

I'm also wondering what the current retail price is. With all the Chanel price increases over the years, I'm assuming the large size must be close to 3k now? At the beginning of this thread, the price was under 2k!
