Found mine pre-owned but with tags attached and with all cards!! Looks almost new/display model-like. Not one scratch on the hardware but a tiny scratch on the front. Corners are perfect too!

Excuse the room. I’ve been in bed all morning. Being 38 weeks pregnant is weighing on me! You can see the hospital bags laying around. LoL

Lusted for one of these since I was in my first years of working but could never afford it then! I’ve never really stopped loving the look of this bag and it’s SO much lighter than a Birkin!

Congratulations! I still love the Cerf Tote to this day. It is the best work bag, and I also use it for travel. It will make a great baby bag! I didn't see a photo of the strap, but be sure you get the strap with it. I use my strap all the time when lugging around my laptop and heavy stuff.

This one doesn’t have the longer strap and I’m ok with it given the price and super new condition.

It doesn’t have the metal d-ring for anything to hook on so I’m assuming it never had a strap originally. Maybe the mademoiselle cerf totes don’t have straps?

I finally joined the club! I have wanted this bag for years! As previously mentioned, it is a perfect Birkin alternative for Chanel lovers! I actually find this bag heavy when carried on the crook of my arm and I don’t carry much so I can only imagine how heavy a full leather bag would be. I really value the shoulder strap for that reason which is why having that included was a deal breaker for me when purchasing preowned. I love the versatility because it looks great dressed up for work or when carried casually on the weekends. I now want one in every color! For anyone interested, I have a Zoomoni organizer in mine to maintain the overall structure & keep the light fabric interior clean.

I just acquired one similar to yours with the Mademoiselle turnlock - same year, same leather, same hardware color. It's new-to-me in WHITE leather from a preloved source, and it's shipping on the way to me -- I'm excited. Thanks for posting pics - it gives me joy to see another Cerf from same year, turnlock, etc. How are you doing with this bag? I wanted to check in - and would love to hear how you're enjoying it? My only concern was wondering if I would regret not having a shoulder strap. But I do like the simplicity of this tote, without all the bling'd out logos, except on the cute detachable pouch. Do you use an organizer inside? Does the pouch snap in? I'm so curious!

Also, does anyone have a WHITE leather Chanel - I welcome any care tips to keep it clean and avoiding color transfer? I plan to use this as a daily tote - and nervous that will lead to messes LOL.

1- Is this one in a condition that worths 1700 US?

2- Can someone help me through the serial number identify the year it was made? And leather, etc? I remember there was a regular one, a seasonal one… I can’t identify this one!

Congrats on your new beauty! I have an organizer in my Cerf tote and I can still keep the pouch snapped inside at the same time but it takes up quite a bit of space in the organizer. It’s fine though because I don’t carry a lot. My Cerf is beige but I do have a white caviar jumbo. I don’t use it as a daily bag but I avoid color transfer by only carrying it when I wear light colored clothing. When I wear dark clothing, I carry one of my black Chanel bags or LV monogram instead. I have finally overcome my fear of light colored bags.

I wish they hadn’t discontinued this fabulous bag also! I am definitely not an expert but I can try to help. I have learned so much from this forum by searching key terms & reading through various threads. A 19 series (the first 2 numbers) indicates the bag was produced in 2014. The Cerf was produced in both deerskin (Cerf means deer in French) & calfskin leathers. I don’t recall what year Chanel stopped producing it in deerskin. From what I have read, deerskin loses its structure faster than calfskin. The biggest complaint I have found about preowned Cerf totes is structure loss. A bag organizer definitely helps but doesn’t eliminate it entirely. When it comes to pricing and condition, those are such personal preferences that are different for everyone. Hope this helped and best of luck with whatever you decide!

Thank you! I stumbled across it at a local designer resale boutique. I‘m by no means a purse connoisseur and just thought it was so pretty. I was trying to find out more about it and that’s how I found this forum. So now I know it’s the 2005/2006 2.55 reissue cerf tote.

It does sag with time. Consider protecting against that, or fortifying it if it isnalready too saggy for you.

I tried Clover Sac and KD Austrailia inserts for the Cerf and found both to be disastrous. I finally bought a Samorga and it is a perfect fit. The insert was only about $30, but so was shipping. Just make sure you get the right size, there are several.

I'm curious what others inserts are a perfect fit.

A funny think about the Cerf is there is a lot of confusion about deerskin vs. calfskin.

Does ANYONE know how to determine which is which? Can this be determined by year? Hardware? Size? Weight? Look?

For anyone who purchased the bag new, can you please post a picture/serial number/weight and maybe we can figure this out together?

What does it matter? It doesn't. I you like the bag, rock the bag. Of course, all that. But you know how we are here at tPF! We must know! Come on friends, let's bring on the minutiae!

I know mine is calfskin, which I thought was odd, considering they specifically call it a cerf tote. But it is not saggy at all. So there is that.
