I actually ordered the ‘Chanel Cerf Large 2’ size (one cup holder model) they had on the website and then emailed them to change the dimensions to my bag’s interior measurements. My samorga measurements are 13L x 4.2W x 5H. I realized their website standard was taller than I wanted (theirs is 8in tall) and it would cover up the Chanel tag on the inside and maybe be hard to get into the side zip pockets. But when I went to measure it I also found their length to be a bit longer than mine. They were very nice and made it to the size I asked without any additinal charge. It took a long time to ship 3 weeks but I wasn’t in a rush and didn’t mind.

About the tapering of the bag (wider bottom and smaller top).... I don’t have any issues with the sizing of the organizer. I think the felt is soft enough to mold to the taper plus with the shorter height I asked for, there isn’t as much of the organizer reaching the top of the bag where it gets narrow. Hope that helps!

Hi everyone! I’m new to the world of chanel and am in love with the Cerf tote. I’m looking at buying a pre-loved Black xl off eBay - from all the photos, authenticity card, serial number etc it looks pretty good. But the lining is grey - does anyone own a black cerf/executive tote with the grey lining? Seller says it was purchased circa 2013-2014. Thank you so much for any info!

Maybe she had it re-lined? I’ve only ever seen black fabric lining with black to be honest. Black with burgundy on other bags is sometimes a yes, as that is classic Chanel, but not black on grey.

If you really want it, I’d ask more questions like did she re-line it, where did she buy it. She should be happy to answer all these simple questions.

For me though, I’d wait to get a true black on black. Mine is black on black.

By the way, I love this bag. It’s my work horse! Great choice!

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I too prefer the classic black on black, so am looking at a different listing now. It’s a bit nerve-wracking buying pre-owned, so even a slight doubt is enough to sway me. I’m glad to hear you love your bag. I’m also looking for a classic work horse that doesn’t scream Chanel so I can use it in varied work or social environments. Do you find it heavy?

I love this bag and it the best work bag! For so many reasons...
It’s light... I stuff the thing without any problem. I am talking when I get on a plane (which is nearly weekly), I’ve got a laptop, power cords, Bose headset, water bottle, o-case, book... you name it.

The single strap makes it super easy to sling over your shoulder. Mine is really beat up but I still love it. It has the character of a well-traveled bag. I looked for other totes but they are so much heavier and they have double straps which is a super pain for serious work travel as one strap always falls off the shoulder.

And lastly... there are a billion pockets and slots. I use the front slot with the CC to hold napkins and just stick my hand in to grab one out. It’s so cute and easy for travel!

Can you tell I love this bag? Honestly I have yet to find a replacement bag that is so functional.

And yes... it’s Chanel but quiet and elegant.

Great review - do you have a photo of your trusty workhorse? I have the version without the shoulder strap (sadly) but I love her!
