I agree. The mechanism does look the same in the picture, but the SA from New York said it was not. I am hoping my regular SA will come through for me today with pictures.

I hope she can get you pics too!! I agree with you about the artsy strap. Every time I tried it on It wasn't comfortable. I know it needs break in time but I don't want to go through that.

I'm with you on that. I don't want to feel pressured either. I've been wanting the montaigne mm in noir but I want to wait to see the new gray with studs that is coming out.

Other than that, I seem to be drawn to more basic bags that I don't really need LOL

I may just get a store credit till I decide for sure. So far the DE Delightful is still winning out

I am excited about the Montaigne with studs. That is the bag I thought I would finish out the year with along with the Cruise green.

I don't think I would have even considered the dark gray Montaigne if it did not have studs, but the studs are intriguing me. I have the noir Montaigne GM and it is an amazing bag.

Unless there is a bag that is super unique or crazy, I am usually drawn to the basic bags as well. I just don't need them either and it gets to a point that it becomes overwhelming.

I can't wait to see the studded Montaigne. I LVOE the Noir MM and had decided to get it for my birthday in November. Then I heard about the studs.

I agree it does get overwhelming. I try telling myself that when you have trouble deciding which bag you want to carry, you have too many. But then I just think NAH, I need more arms!

I got the Artsy the first day it came out and actually bought a second one for a family member. The canvas was amazing and no vachetta except for the handle. I hated that handle. It sat in my closet until this year when I finally got rid of it. The buyer absolutely loved it because I gave her a great price for an almost brand new bag with canvas you cant find today.

No matter how beautiful it was (and the canvas was amazing), I could not get over how uncomfortable the strap was. The Artsy was not meant to be shoulder carried and I never did, but it was horrible to hold. The Gaia is suppose to be a shoulder carry bag so that is why they arched the handle, but it is still that big old braided handle. The SA even said it feels just like the Artsy. Doesn't LV ever learn. You put a different handle on that bag and it would have been great. They could have put a handle similar to the Caissa, but without the defect! It would have been so much more comfortable. Why oh why!!

I can't follow their thinking sometimes. The Caissa handle is so comfortable!!!!!! It's such a shame though. The bag is so pretty!!!!!!

This is going to be very interesting to see how LV solves this. Will the come up with a fix for the design flaw, or just pull them and go on to the next thing. HMMMMM

I just want a bag I love they don't have to worry about. [emoji3][emoji3]

I agree 100%. I get so tired of having to worry about them and the issues are becoming more prevalent these days. It seems like since 2012 things have slowly declined in quality and workmanship. I look at my older items and the stitching and alignment is almost perfect every time. Today, I rarely get a "perfect" item. It seems like I always have to "accept" an item with some minor issue or flaw. I never use to have to do that. I don't want to send my bag off to surgery for 6-8 weeks. It is ridiculous.

My guess is that they will move on to the next thing. However, if they were smart, because of the success and demand for the hobo, they should come out with a better handle design.

I am being impatient so I called another LV store that had the Gaia hobo in and she said that it looked like the same attachment as the Caissa! However, I knew more than she did and she tried to tell me the Gaia came in cerise, noir and then all monogram. I was like, I don't think so! She did say the handle was flat on the bottom and not round all the way like the Artsy.

Regarding the handle mechanism, she said that it was because of the double fold on the Caissa for the problem with the screw coming off and that with the Gaia it only has a single fold so it should hold. She mentioned that they were saying they should have done it with a ring instead. I think that is a little late. I am not sure what to think.

Thanks for the update! If the handle is flat on the bottom, it might be more comfortable.

Don't you love the info they give you. Especially when you know they are wrong? LMAO!!

I really hate to hear that the caissa hobo is having problems .. Seems like that's the new trend with LV theses days ! sMH Im so glad I didn't sale my Reggia to help fund this bag ! i almost did .. I'm loving my new delightful in mono ! LV seemed to fix the peeling issue so I hope ! I waited months before buying it ! It's to bad we have to wait to see what's going to be wrong with a new release nowadays !
