What do you use to tighten? I am setting Ching over to my caissa tonight. I'm nervous but my SA told me to use it and if there r any issues to bring it back and they would take care of it.

I don't know why they would even feel good selling it to you. I just got off the phone with LV customer service and was asking about the Gaia Hobo and mentioned the Caissa and she said they are well aware of the defect. I just got off the phone with New York and they said the same. They should be taking them off the shelves any day.

The Gaia hobo is at some of the stores with a launch date of September 1st.

Oh I bought mine on August 1st but have not used it yet. One store also said they were pulling them. So what about those of us who currently have one?

Well, you know that it has a known defect. Multiple tpf members have mentioned it. Just think of all the non-tpf members it has happened to. It is eventually going to happen to every single bag. The option would be to return it, exchange it or keep it and deal with the defect. I don't think you can even send it out for a repair as they have not figured out how to fix it. Tightening the screws is just a temporary fix and how many times do you do that before the threads are worn. If a store tells you they have never heard of it, tell them to call customer service. If you want to be really prepared, call customer service and inquire about it. Every store I have talked to is well aware of it and I think that it is ethically wrong to even sell it to someone right now. It is a sad situation for a beautiful bag.

Thanks for the update HTOWNE! I haven't heard back from my SA but we have a deal that if I text him and he's off, he's not to reply until he's back at work.

Are they going to take them off the shelves? What did they say about the Gaia? Does it for sure have the same handle mechanism?

They, of course, loved the Gaia. The 2 stores I talked to liked the cerise better than the noir. The handle is similar to the Artsy but shaped differently so fits more comfortably, but will still need a break in period. They said the handle mechanism was not the same as the Caissa, but I want to see it in person. I would think they would have to be right or else they would hold back the product knowing it would be a major issue. They said it was similar in size to the Tournon so definitely not the dimension in the lookbook. I am trying to get pictures. One of the stores was not the regular person I talk to and she mentioned how it was a great bag for a lower price point. I thought that was a snobby remark, but it was New York so what can I say. I don't consider $2500 a lower price point for a monogram bag. I understand the Kimono was $3250 so maybe that is what she was thinking, but look how many monogram bags are less than $2500. It was not very enjoyable talking to her. I have a call into another store that is usually much more friendlier and helpful. I was just so curious and knew New York would have it. The New York SA was actually a ***** about the Caissa issue.

Thanks so much for the info HTOWNE!! I'll be watching for any pics you get. I would like to see it. Although I have the NM Delightful MM and the Sully MM, so I don't really "need" another mono hobo. But I'm not good at going along with the "need" theory. LOL

I'm with you tlo. I don't know what to get if I return my caissa. I don't like the strap on the delightful. I am going to see a pic of the new hobo as well so I can make a decision.

I have the delightful in mono and da and I love them. I've carried them the most of any of my bags this spring and summer. Except for rain of course. So that's why I was thinking of the delightful in DE. I want to try it on because I know the strap will be a bit different on it.

It's so hard for me to decide. I love them all!! LOL

I am sooooo indecisive. The caissa had everything I wanted. I'm so confused.

I think that is my problem. I was so happy with the caissa that I'm having a hard time focusing on anything else.

I just tried to enlarge the picture of the new high end hobo in mono. I couldn't get it clear but what I could see, the screw mechanism looked like the one on caissa

That is the difficult part. Several times I have exchanged or replaced a bag and tried to force myself to find something that I really didn't like, but I felt pressured. I am kind of dealing with that right now. I don't like the handle on the Artsy and I know the Gaia Hobo is the same except more arched, but I need to do an exchange. I don't really like to look back and try to always look forward with new releases. It sucks. There are times when there is just nothing that really stands out to me.

I agree. The mechanism does look the same in the picture, but the SA from New York said it was not. I am hoping my regular SA will come through for me today with pictures.

I'm with you on that. I don't want to feel pressured either. I've been wanting the montaigne mm in noir but I want to wait to see the new gray with studs that is coming out.

Other than that, I seem to be drawn to more basic bags that I don't really need LOL

I may just get a store credit till I decide for sure. So far the DE Delightful is still winning out
