I don't blame you at all fyn!!!!! The story and sentiments behind yours is so sweet!!!!

Yes it was! My DB isn't ready to give up on her, He said even if he fixes it himself
He is altering a small phillips head screwdriver to flatten the head and use a soft cloth so it doesn't scratch and see how it goes :thinkin:

How sweet   Of him. Ask him to use a thread locker as well

I 'm gonna call LV today and ask about the defect status. Let's see if they owe up to it. My bag is ok but I'll willing to exchange it when this issue is fix. There really is nothing in DE hobo that I must have. The coming mono hobo seems beautiful, though I personally believe the price point is too high for a canvass bag and i'm not really a big mono bag girl as well.

But I need to talk to them first and see what my options are. I don't wnt another bag style really. I just want the handles fix. I have a little screw driver in my mini pochette just in case Lol!!

I've been using mine too and the handle hasn't come off but once I read here I checked and my screws were loose. I tightened them and kept using it and they would loosen right back up.

So back it goes

Wow, that's crazy!!! OK, I'm going to be really ignorant but I still don't get it! I have looked at my bag and it seems like those cuff link things are tight against the canvas on my bag, like there is no movement whatsoever. Almost like they are glued on there. So are you saying that these become loose, like you can put your finger nail under it? I just can't picture it.

In any event, I'm not gong to return mine. I haven't even carried it yet, and have only had it for about 8 days. But after talking just now to my SA about these concerns, he has assured me that if I ever have this problem, even down the road, that he will take care of me, regarding exchange or fix (if there is one), whatever I want, he said, and told me to just not worry about it and enjoy the bag.

Well I'm still not giving mine up just yet. I may end up the only one with one at this rate! LOL I'll wait to see what they'll come up with to fix the part.

You and Me both!!! My SA promises me that he will always stand behind the bag, even down the road, and that I should just enjoy it and not even worry about it or baby it.

That's good!! So get that bag out, load it up and use it. See how it does.

Inside those little cuff link things is a screw on each side. So you have a total of 4 screw. The screw head is a phillips head (a cross for the screw driver to fit). I put the end of my fingernail in that cross and could turn the screw with ease to tighten it.

The first time I checked I only had one loose screw. The next day I checked and I had 2 loose screws. So I used my fingernail again to both of them. After that I held the handle in my hand and gentle moved the bag a bit. Like it might move on your shoulder. Guess what, they were both loose again.

So that's why I'm taking mine back. The only reason my handle hasn't come off, I feel, is because I've been checking and tightening the screws.

But I can't enjoy using a bag that I'm constantly worried a screw will come out and my handle will fall off. Not the look I was going for.:laugh::laugh:

I hope you don't have any problem with yours and you get to use and enjoy it for years~!!!! I love this bag so much, it makes me sad to return it.

I have returned one after using it for four days but this second one is definitely holding up better. But we shall see...I wonder what their fix is going to be? Honestly I don't know why it's screws or why the screws aren't long enough there is no reason for them to come off once they make the bag.

I just got back from LV and the manager read me the notification he received from corporate. They are indeed aware of the defect and they did say for the stores to remove the stock from the shelves until quality control can come up with a solution. Also, to offer anyone with a problem bag a store credit. I did exchange mine for a delightful MM mono w/ Pivone interior. Also have enough for a wallet for my son.
