That's good!! So get that bag out, load it up and use it. See how it does.

Inside those little cuff link things is a screw on each side. So you have a total of 4 screw. The screw head is a phillips head (a cross for the screw driver to fit). I put the end of my fingernail in that cross and could turn the screw with ease to tighten it.

The first time I checked I only had one loose screw. The next day I checked and I had 2 loose screws. So I used my fingernail again to both of them. After that I held the handle in my hand and gentle moved the bag a bit. Like it might move on your shoulder. Guess what, they were both loose again.

So that's why I'm taking mine back. The only reason my handle hasn't come off, I feel, is because I've been checking and tightening the screws.

But I can't enjoy using a bag that I'm constantly worried a screw will come out and my handle will fall off. Not the look I was going for.:laugh::laugh:

I hope you don't have any problem with yours and you get to use and enjoy it for years~!!!! I love this bag so much, it makes me sad to return it.

Wow, I'm so sorry that is happening to your bag and don't blame you a bit for feeling like enough is enough. You're right as it seems like the enjoyment of this bag is gone with all of the attention you have to give it just to function correctly, and at this price it should not be this way at all. Thank you for your detailed info, as I am going to again look more closely at mine. Keep us updated as to your return and what they say!!!

Thanks bagluv4ever!! I hope they can come up with a fix and not just forget this bag and go on to something else. I don't think they have a fix yet. My SA said they had gotten in the High End Hobo in Mono for me to look at and said it was a nice bag.

I just replied with ok and thank you. I'll see it when I go in. BUT looking at the pics, it looks like it has the same kind of mechanism for the handle. This should be interesting at least. I have 2 mono hobos, the Delightful and Sully. LOVE them both and couldn't part with them so I don't need another mono hobo.

The new high end hobo is pretty but for some reason its not screaming "take me home" I think I"m going to go with the DE Delightful. I know I love that bag and it works well for me.

I hope you don't have any problems with your Caissa. It's a gorgeous bag!

My SA said the same thing so I told myself that I would just enjoy it! But reading this forum is making me doubt myself [emoji15]

Yes, I know and agree.... I expressed the same thing as you... really... I even said that I would sure hate for them to say something like this issue was "wear and tear," if I had to bring it back with this problem, and he said that he would stand by his word regarding this not being the case and would definitely take care of it if something happens to this bag, no matter what, even down the road, so don't worry and enjoy the bag. So I am going to.

I just got back from LV and the manager read me the notification he received from corporate. They are indeed aware of the defect and they did say for the stores to remove the stock from the shelves until quality control can come up with a solution. Also, to offer anyone with a problem bag a store credit. I did exchange mine for a delightful MM mono w/ Pivone interior. Also have enough for a wallet for my son.

Wow!!! Good info to know. I'm glad you got something else and something for your son. :smile1:

Thank you. As for the new high end hobo, I'm just not sure, and if you already have the Sully, then I'm with you regarding getting the DE Delightful. I had already sold my Reggia, as I really wanted the Caissa, (was kind of impulsive about it! lol!), so that's another reason that I am hoping that the Caissa works out ok for me! Keep us posted!! ;)

OH NO! I'm sorry you sold your Reggia!!! Keep me posted on how yours is doing! I hope it works great for you!!

I love this bag, however, I have had the screw fall out after 1 1/2 weeks of use. I called CS today and they told me that they have not had this problem before and for me to take it to the store. It doesn't sound like there is a solution and I am not sure if I want a different style bag as it took me over a year to decide what bag I wanted.

I'm taking mine in to send to the repair specialists as I do not want to choose another bag. I've bought enough lately and nothing else appeals to me, they just need to put better lock stuff on the screw to stop it wriggling loose!

A good thread locker will get the job done. Maybe once LV sorted out this screw issue, they will replace our handles. Like you, no other hobo bag appeals to me right now.

Hubby is not too fuss about it cause it's something that he can easily do. But anything that is hold down by screws that is not tighten to specification will rotate and come loose eventually.

I do understand why some people are so upset. having your expensive brand new bag handle suddenly snap on you is not the best. I wouldn't be happy if it was me as well I would still be giving LV a piece of my mind until now.

I will still bring my bag to the store next month so they can give me their word that they will fix the screws if something happens to it. I want it in writting if possible LOL!

It's :rolleyes:OK really. I liked the Reggia, not sure if I really loved it, but I really wanted a DE hobo bag! Anyway, I'm keeping the Caissa for now and we'll ALL see how things go with this bag!!! :smile1:

I hope you bag holds up for you!!! I had asked my SA today if he knew a timeline for the possible "fix". He just said they were "working on it as we speak and we don't have any more in stock so we will exchange it for another bag for you"

So I don't feel confident that there will be a simple quick fix.

I think they've heard of it. Why else would Corporate send out instructions for the store to pull the bags of of the shelves due to a quality issue.

You know they always want to say then've ever heard of it.

I'm so sorry your's fell out. I REALLY hate to part with this bag but I'm not spending 2K on a bag that I have to tighten the screws every few minutes. That is how fast they are working loose. I can tighten in my Den and walk to my kitchen and the screws are loose again.

Good luck fyn!!!! I hope they can fix it for you. Let us know how you come out with it!

I hate it when they act like a situation is new news to them!! :pout:
But what is interesting is that this bag is still available to purchase on-line, both colors, it is not saying "call to purchase", so why are they still selling them, if Corporate sent out instructions to pull the bags? All of this stuff leaves me confused, but like I said, I will hold onto mine, and if there is a "new and improved" fix, I'll be sure to ask that I get in on it!! :smile1:

Hi,

you can still buy the bag in the stores in Germany. I went to the store yesterday to have a look at it. It's a very nice bag and I especially checked the screws on the one I tried on. They were really firm in place, I couldn't imagine how they could get loose. My SA said they haven't heard of any problems with it yet... I didn't buy it because it's too small for my needs at the moment. I also thought the glazing wasn't perfect around the edges and the strap was too stiff for me. My SA removed the strap and attached a longer one for crossbody wear. It was comfortable to wear it crossbody but I didn't like the look of it. I think it looks best if you wear it on your shoulder.
