Personally the probablem I have with celebrities getting preferential treatment is this says to me that some countries are willing to "sell" their children to rich people. Forget about Angelina - what about a wealthy pedophile who gets preferential treatment too? What about a wealthy business person who buys children so that they can put them to work as sex slaves or put them to work in some third world horrible factory?

When special treatment is available for wealthy people versus others, besides the unfairness to the people who are not rich and famous and trying to adopt, it could have terrible consequences for the children being adopted.

I think what Angelina and Madonna are doing is opening the door for other people to abuse the privilige of adoption. I have no problem with them adopting kids from wherever but I think they should have to follow the laws of the countries involved, and the laws should be set up for the protection of adopted children above anything else. ANGELINA ESCAPES KIDNAPPING PLOT!

While on a visit to an unnamed destination in the capacity of a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, Angelina Jolie narrowly escaped being kidnapped!

The mommy-of-three, who became a Goodwill Ambassador back in 2001, has travelled to some of the most war-torn areas of the world raising awareness of the plight of refugees.

However, Angie was left reeling when she learned that gangsters were plotting to kidnap her and hold her for a multimillion dollar ransom.

In an exclusive interview with the British weekly News of the World, the actress-turned-humanitarian said: "It was in a small village. I won't say where, or with whom, but some gangsters planned to kidnap me and extort a massive ransom. I was warned at the last minute, and managed to escape, luckily."

But fear not -- Angie insists that she’s not about let one kidnap plot scare her away from the work she does for she wants to do her bit in lending a helping hand to underprivileged people.

"I don't want to act like the Mother Teresa of Hollywood," she said. "But I want to help where there is poverty and destruction."

As for how babydadddy Brad Pitt copes with their trips, well, Angelina revealed that the couple solved their problems by working as a team.

"I love Brad very much and on our trips we pull together as a team," she said.

The Oscar-winning actress does admit that things get tough when it affects the couple’s three kids – Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh – all of whom have been accompanying their parents on their trips to far-off places.

"Things only get difficult when it affects our children," she said. "I have become more mature. I have learned to accept responsibility for myself, my children and my partner. Becoming a mum was the biggest change in my life, and it made me feel like a complete woman. At times in my life I was lost, without a purpose, now I'm more grounded."

Oscar-winner, mother and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie recently wrapped up a two-day trip to a refugee camp in eastern Chad housing refugees from Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region, praising humanitarian workers for their tireless efforts in providing assistance while calling for more aid to those in need.

New black and white photos from her trip have now been released!

Angie hopes her visit will help focus the world's attention on the war in Darfur and the plight of the refugees. "If I can draw you in a little because I'm familiar, then that's great," she told Newsweek's Middle East Regional Editor Christopher Dickey after she came back from her visit to the Oure Cassoni camp. "Because I know that at the end you're not looking at me, you're looking at them." Well ... "As long as [you] end up looking at them, that's the point."

Jolie's response to critics who call what she does "celebrity tourism" is matter-of-fact: "I don't know if anybody saying that has spent the last six years of their life going to over 30 camps and really spending time with these people."

Love her response in here..

I don't know but maybe it's me - if I had 3 little kids and one more on the way, I think would cut back the humanitarian work and stay close to home. I can't see the point of going to these dangerous places as being worth the risk of being kidnapped or killed and leaving her children without a mother.

She can still raise money and speak out about the causes that I know are near and dear to her heart - I just don't think it is wise to put herself in physical danger. This is just my personal opinion of course. Peggy

I love her to death!!! I think its very noble of her to do what she does. She dosent do it for the exposure either, half the time she dosent even publisize her trips and when they are brought to the medias attention, she makes sure to donate millions to the causes. People are going to contiune to moan and groan about how she needs to stay closer to home, but I mean if she feels thats what she needs to do in her life..then so be it. I cant comprehend peoples train of thought in situations like this---someone stepping up and doing something about it, instead of being praised, people want to bash her. gosh, some people might needs to reevaluate their own lives.

I find it honourable that she is doing all of this humanitarian work but on the other hand it has to be affecting her home life to some extent! I sincerely doubt that Brad Pitt is very happy with his wife traveling all over the world and all of the time and with 3 young children at home! It is obvious that she gets some sort of gratification by being away from home! And regarding the issue of adoption, I don't think people should bash her for wanting to adopt again but I do think it is unfair that they are bending the rules for her just because she is rich and famous!

Remember those adorable pictures of Brad Pitt playing with Shiloh in an uncharacteristically frilly dress? It turns out there was a reason that she was dressed up so cute that day. Shiloh was on set filming for a cameo in Brad’s upcoming movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Twin infant girls were hired to play the part of a Cate Blanchett’s character as a baby in Brad’s film, but neither of them would stay calm long enough to start filming. Brad realized that his nine month old daughter, Shiloh, would be a shoe-in for the part, and it sounds like she was already nearby, most likely at the onset daycare. Shiloh was quickly prepped for her first acting role and she was a natural:
[Brad Pitt] didn’t have to look far for a replacement when year-old twins chosen for a part didn’t work out.
He simply plucked his own adorable daughter out of her stroller for the baby role in “The Curious Case of Benajim Button, the Enquirer has learned exclusively.
“Brad and Shiloh saved the day when twin sisters hired to take turns playing actress Cate Blanhett’s character as a baby wouldn’t settle down,” revealed an insider…
“Everyone waited in vain while the babies were fed, changed and hugged - but nothing worked to calm them on the set in New Orleans.
“The quickly-thinking Brad realized his daughter’s happy and mellow disposition made her a quick fix for the role,” said the insider.
Quicker than you can say, “a star is born,” she fit perfectly into the role.
“She’s a natural,” said the insider.
“Shiloh did her scenes perfectly and was giggling and happy throughout her big day.”

Last week we told you that Brad and Angelina were far along in the process of adopting another son from Vietnam. We're now happy to report that the application is currently being processed and that the family may welcome a 3 1/2 year old boy in just a few weeks! Here's more:

Officials in Ho Chi Minh City are reviewing Jolie's file and should complete their work by the end of the month at the latest, said Vu Duc Long, director of Vietnam's International Adoption Department.
Jolie can pick up the child anytime after the application is approved, he said.
The child was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital as a baby and then taken to the nearby Tam Binh orphanage, where he has lived ever since, said Nguyen Van Trung, the orphanage director.
Shortly after he arrived at the orphanage, the Tam Binh staff tried unsuccessfully to locate the boy's birth parents.
"He is in good health," Trung said. "He is a little bit shy."
The boy gets along well with other children and loves to play soccer, Trung said.
This little guy sounds adorable already! We can't wait to see how he fits in with Maddox, Shiloh, and Z. Looks like Brad is one step closer to having enough kids to fill that soccer team.

Maybe it's just me, but I think they're adopting a little too soon. I think they really haven't thought about the kids they already have. I know they want to help, but I think that it's just too soon. Maddox and Zahara have just had to cope with Shiloh (even Angelina said that Zahara was jealous) and now, not even year later they're adding a new baby. This can be really tough for Mad and Z. I think they should have wait one more year or even more.
