I don't think there's any problem with it....all the power to them!! Some families have 5, 6, 7, 8 kids all very close together and they turn out just fine!! My father for example has 5 sisters and they're very close in age and they're a very happy family!!

Heres a pic of Maddox.... boy they certainly allow this kid to express himself, look at his nails and hair.

I read that she will have the child by this weekend! That was quick!

(03-14) 12:26 PDT HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam (AP) --
Angelina Jolie arrived in Vietnam late Wednesday night, where she plans to adopt a 3-year-old boy.

Airport security officials told a photographer working for The Associated Press that Jolie was whisked into a car with dark windows and driven away.

The actress was expected to attend an adoption ceremony with Vietnamese officials in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday morning, according to adoption officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about the matter.

After she receives the child, Jolie will meet with U.S. consular officials, who must review the adoption before a passport can be issued for the boy.

If all goes according to plan, Jolie could bring the child home by the weekend, officials said.

A message left early Wednesday for a Jolie representative in Los Angeles wasn't immediately returned.

The boy has been living at the Tam Binh orphanage on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City since he was abandoned at a hospital as an infant, according to adoption officials.

Shortly after he arrived at the orphanage, the Tam Binh staff tried unsuccessfully to locate the boy's birth parents.

The boy is healthy, friendly and a little bit shy, they said. He gets along well with other children and loves to play soccer.

Jolie filed adoption papers as a single parent, because she and her partner, Brad Pitt, are not married.

They have three children: 5-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.

The pair made a surprise visit to the Tam Binh orphanage at Thanksgiving, when they were spotted cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.

It seems quick to us because we've only started reading about it in the rags over the last month, but Angie and Brad have most likely been considering this for a long time. They visited the orphanage in November 2006.

I'm sure she considered the adoption for quite awhile. I meant that the adoption process was quick. According to the orphanage, she filed papers last week of Feb/first week of March. Everyone said there it would take around 3-4 months. We've just gotten two weeks into March and she may have the little boy home by this weekend. So yeah, less than four weeks from filing papers to having him home is quick. I'm sure it's great for the little boy. I was just surprised.

Jolie Leaves Vietnam Orphanage With Boy
Mar 14, 10:17 PM EST
Actress Angelina Jolie picked up a 3-year-old boy from a Vietnamese orphanage Thursday and headed to a ceremony where she was expected to adopt the child, officials said. The star, who arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday night, carried the boy from the Tam Binh orphanage to a waiting Toyota van. They were expected at the Department of Justice in Ho Chi Minh City where an official ceremony will be carried out to complete the adoption.
Vietnamese adoption officials confirmed to The Associated Press that she planned to adopt the boy. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to talk to the media.
Jolie arrived at the orphanage carrying her 5-year-old son Maddox, whom she adopted in neighboring Cambodia in 2002.
About 20 children dressed in traditional Vietnamese tunics, called ao dai, and offering flowers welcomed the pair as they arrived at the orphanage.
Jolie, dressed in a black skirt and shirt, was preceded at the orphanage by a phalanx of private security guards.
After the official ceremony, Jolie is expected to meet with U.S. consular officials, who must review the adoption before a passport can be issued for the boy.
If all goes as planned, Jolie could take the child home by the weekend, officials said.
Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt, Jolie's partner, did not accompany her to Vietnam.

HO CHI MINH CITY (AFP) - Angelina Jolie on Thursday adopted a three-year-old Vietnamese boy, the newest addition to the multicultural family she has formed with partner and screen idol Brad Pitt.

The Oscar-winning actress picked up the boy -- named Pham Quang Sang -- from a Ho Chi Minh city orphanage in an emotional 30-minute morning visit, the facility's director Nguyen Van Trung told AFP.

"They tried to make friends with the Vietnamese boy, who cried when he saw them because for him, they are strangers," Trung said. "Jolie was very moved. Both of them tried to comfort the little boy."

"There was a small ceremony, announcing the decision of the chairman of the city's people's committee," Trung said.

"Jolie then said she agreed to adopt the child," he said. "Then, representatives of the orphanage brought the child to her, and then we signed a memorandum."

"About 20 children and mothers at the centre said farewell to Jolie and the two boys," he said, adding the the girls wore ao dai, traditional Vietnamese silken tunics. "She was given flowers by the children."

Trung said Jolie planned to rename the boy Pax Thien.

The adoption was officially confirmed at a ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh City justice department, where Jolie and the boy arrived from the orphanage, joined by her five-year-old Cambodian-born adoptive son Maddox -- but not Pitt.

"All the administrative procedures have been completed on the Vietnamese side," said Trung, who said he was present when Jolie -- wearing a black dress -- signed the official papers.

The child is the fourth for Jolie. Aside from Maddox, she has a two-year-old daughter, Zahara, who was adopted from Ethiopia. Jolie and Pitt have a biological daughter, Shiloh, born to the couple last May in Namibia.

It was the latest celebrity adoption of a child from the developing world after pop star Madonna and her director husband Guy Ritchie adopted a baby boy from a Malawi orphanage last October amid global controversy.

Jolie was later expected to meet US consular officials in Ho Chi Minh City so they could prepare to issue an American passport for the boy, who was abandoned at the Tu Du Hospital in the city when he was one month old.

One of the best known and highest paid actresses in Hollywood, Jolie filed the adoption papers in late January through an agency and would adopt the boy as a sole parent because she is unmarried, Vietnamese officials have said.

Jolie and Pitt, her co-star in the 2005 blockbuster "Mr and Mrs Smith," first met the boy during a Thanksgiving Day trip last November.

They were photographed riding a motorcycle through the streets of Vietnam's southern commercial hub, creating a huge "Brangelina" frenzy.

The A-list couple had been on a break from filming in India of "A Mighty Heart," a movie about the 2002 abduction and murder of US journalist Daniel Pearl by Islamic militants in Pakistan.

Jolie -- who won an Oscar in 2000 for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Girl, Interrupted" -- is a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. She has visited scores of refugee camps in Africa, Asia and South America.

That is still very fast. Some people have been waiting for years to get adoptions cleared thru the Vietnamese gov't.

Sorry AJ fans, but this stinks

Angelina Jolie, dressed in a black skirt and shirt, picks up 3-year-old son Pax Thien Jolie on Thursday at the Tam Binh orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was protected by a host of security offiers, including her own personal security guard, Mickey Brett.
Angelina Jolie has renamed her 3-year-old adopted son from Pham Quang Sang to PAX THIEN JOLIE (soon to be PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT).
In Latin, “PAX” means “peace.”
In Vietnamese, “THIEN” means “kind and good” or “helpful” or “heaven” or “quieting” or “bright.”

Good for her for adopting an older child. Even though I think she's an oddball, I would put money on it that she knows exactly what she's doing & wouldn't do anything to make her other children uncomfortable or feel unloved.

Also wanted to clear up some misinformation re: the adoption process in Vietnam. Currently the processing time for adoptions in Vietnam is highly irregular. Most adoption agencies will tell you that the wait can be between 3 months and 14 months. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why Couple A will get their child in 7 months and Couple B will get their child in 13 months. It's a problem that they're urging the Vietnam officials to fix. See Vietnam Adoption and The Adoption Guide: Adoption from Viet Nam

Secondly, Angelina has a huge benefit that normal first time adopting couples don't typically have. A lot of the leg work for her adoption in Vietname was already in place since she's adopted twice before. This means she has an easier time with social workers & obtaining police reports, etc. Also her celebrity status does play a postive role in this. Orphanages have to be very careful about who they adopt to because of the child sex trade industry. An orphanage (through the adoption agency & social workers) have to make sure that Couple A isn't a sex trade "businessman" posing as a happy couple. Because Angelina is so famous worldwide, they've pretty much have a 100% guarantee that Pax isn't going to end up chained up in a basement posing for internet pictures.

This factor (that she's already adopted before) isn't just for Angelina. A lot of couples who adopt one child will find it easier to adopt a second or third child. You've all heard stories of someone going to Russia or China to adopt a child & then getting there only to find out that their child has a brother or sister, and the couple will often times adopt both children to not split up an already established family unit. It's extremely rare for that couple to have to wait the full length of an average first time adoption to bring the brother or sister home.

You also have to take into account that she's adopting an older child. The wait for children that are not newborns is considerably less. Unfortunately to most adopters, once they're pass the baby stage, orphans are considered "damaged goods" so to speak. Orphanages & adoptions agencies will all but bend over backwards to get couples to adopt slightly older children because they know once that child hits the age of 1, the chances of that child being adopted plummet to zero. Once that happens, the orphanage is "stuck" with that child until he or she reaches an age where they can live on their own.

Finally, the issue of money & bribes. It happens. Most agencies will tell you to bring "disposable income & monetary gifts" along with you when you adopt from certain countries (I'm most familar with this in Russia). This happens. Right or wrong, it's how things work in countries with a less than perfect government. A couple I know was told they would have to be in Russia for an entire month for the final stage of the adoption process, however if they wanted to "bring the judge a nice Christmas gift" he might be so grateful that he'd move the court date up. They did just that & were home in a week.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear some things about the adoption process up. I'm a huge advocate of adoption, and I have no problems calling people out who do it illegally (I'm looking at you, Madonna!), and even though I may feel Angelina is a homewrecker (sorry, I do), I feel like I should clear up some of the implications that she bought a child.
