The gray/white/camel colors go with almost everything. It's the style that makes the outfit seem too matchy. It's almost like I have to deliberately mismatch it to make it seem like I'm not trying too hard. When I look at it, I see the straight line which makes me want to pair it with something modern. I also want it to pop, which means I need to go monochromatic or very simple.

I had planned to wear it with a white top and navy pants. I just realized that the white top is too white so I swapped it out for the cognac penny. :shrugs:

The chambray goes amazing with a burgundy top and light taupe skirt. And almost everything else. White jeans, dark jeans, military green, khaki, ....

Now if you wear a lot of black, the colorblock could be great. I am drawn to light neutrals and prints this summer, but the colorblock would look great with my black trench. Chambray might be a little dull with an all black outfit. I don't wear all black much.

I love how you explained about being too matchy and trying so hard to make it look like you're not! I wear lots of dark jeans, white jeans and black jeans with white Ts and light neutrals tops, but not all black. I can see how I must look so matchy matchy to others! My husband thinks I should exchange for the white/bright mandarin colorblock to make a statement. What do you think? Any comments or suggestions, ladies? Help me out, please!

Mine does too. However, I took her on an extended business trip. The knock around from that wasn't pretty. That being said, I have taken my LV on business trips and not had a problem. :-/

Does it show in pictures? Your mod shots were a lot of the reason why I bought the vermillion!! I could see a business trip being hard on this bag, I took my colorblock rory for a trip last year and it got a few scuffs (i even used the dust bag when stored under the seat while on the plane lol) and I have more faith in that legacy leather than I do in the glove tanned leather of the borough... I'm just curious to see how "bad" it is. I know that is a relative term because while I may think the scuffs on my rory are very noticeable, someone else may not even see it. If possible could you post some pictures of your bag? This is one bag that I would like to cut the tags and start using, but I'm having second thoughts. Also did you treat your bag before using it? Either with conditioner or protectant? Thanks in advance for the info!

I would keep the chambray and get the vermillion for a statement bag.

White/Bright Mandarin is gorgeous! I almost got that one instead of the white and black striped, but I wear a LOT of black and that stripped was the one I've been in love with for awhile. I have the vermillion as well and have had no issues with it, but he Mandarin would make an awesome statement bag--go with Hubby's suggestion! :D

Here is a pic of the front right corner- yikes! I need to treat this leather...

Thanks for the picture! I know that's a close up and in person it's probably not noticeable right away, but it is a little concerning to me... I really like the bag though so I think I'm just going to treat it and use the conditioner and protectant and if something happens in the short term I would just hope Bloomingdales would offer some way to rectify the situation if something occurred only after a few uses.

Thank you, CharliLuvsCoach! I hope I can make it into the store soon to check out the color.

May I ask a few questions of the Borough ladies here?
Which colors are the glove tanned? Is it only the camel and vermillion (which actually list it as glove tanned)? Or are the color blocks and bar stripes too?

And for those who have bags with white in them ... does the white pick up a lot of dirt/scuffs/etc?

Thank you. :)

Coach.com should show you all the options

The main website does not state what type of leather most of the color block Boroughs are (except for the embossed boarskin). The bar stripes and retro color blocks, for example, do not mention leather type. They look like glove tanned, but that's only a visual guess. There's no statement on the website either way.

Hopefully someone here might know? :)

Thanks again. :)

I have actually wondered this myself. I just got the striped one (black and ivory/white) and although it does not say glove tanned, it is very similar in structure and feel. The color block in Mandarin seemed similar as well but slightly softer. I don't have anything diffinitive, just my observations. The striped is listed as "smooth leather" the mandarin is "retro boarskin" and a the grey is "retro color block" so perhaps the grey would be closest to the retro glove tanned? It's all very confusing!!

(Nodding my head.) Yep. I might be about to get the mini bar strip (grey bottom, white/navy stripes) and that's why I was wondering. And when I say "about to", I mean today. Yes, of course I could ask my SA, but so many women here seem to know these bags inside and out. Thank you. :)
