And also corner wear- my vermillion has a scuffed corner or two after only 2-3 wears.

That's terrible! I was worried about the leather but was hoping it wouldn't be an issue if I treated it and was more careful (I'm currently using a saffiano bag, so I've been a little more rough with it). Did you condition yours or put any rain guarde or other protectant on it? I got a good price on mine but I still don't want it to have issues after only a few wears...

I am careful but I took mine to the mall and may have bumped into some counters/shopping racks or maybe my own car door getting in and out. I haven't treated it yet but I will asap! I ordered a pebbled leather B and I'm thinking the leather won't be quite so delicate... I think the boxiness of the corners make it a little bulky, and the scuffs may have happened when it was on my shoulder, not my arm.

I agree that men's bags or fashion in generally are lacking in style or fashion details, for example in men's section of tees, a tee is just a tee, probably with varying prints on the front but that's about it, whereas ladies' tees have different shapes, cutting, designs and stuff that are not just limited to prints, so I have always felt men's fashion are definitely boring.

Bags don't have genitals so I don't see why it can only be a ladies bag. I strongly dislike the way some people associate things with genders, i.e. pink only for ladies, blue only for men; handbags for ladies, messenger bags for men only. I mean put it the other way round, many ladies use men stuff, why can't men use ladies stuff? Makes life with so many limited options, and this I think is very stupid.

IMHO the Coach Borough Bag is one bag that really suits fine on both ladies and men, it's such a fantastic design and shape, and neutral in every way if you look at it alone. Once it's worn on a lady it'd make the lady look very elegant; while on a man it'd look like a wonderful everyday bag / briefcase that's big enough to fit documents, MacBook Air, etc.

If people give you weird looks, screw them! Don't give a toss about them who have very narrow-minded brains and they live only inside a box set with a narrow list of strict rules of social norms that were probably derived from the 19th century. They should learn to accept others have their own tastes and preferences, and embrace life that changes everyday and moves on. Again, put it the other way, in the medieval times tights used to be men's thing, now it's ladies fasion; UGG boots initially started off as men's items (soldiers specifically speaking); same goes to riding boots until we kind of stole them to be our fashion items. The war had a lot to do with changes in fashion and stuff, but there is no reason why men can't use stuff that were originally their own, or reverse the trend like how things did in favour of ladies.

If you like it then get it!! It's such a wonderful bag! Just one advice though: don't hold it on your arm or how you wear it on your shoulder like how ladies do. See these images below and you'll see what I mean;

Get a wider strap for crossbody wearing, not as wide as the image below, that'd ruin the great appearance of the Borough, but get one about 1 inch wide. That'd look good on men. :D

I have absolutely no problem with men using ladies stuff, if that means making life and fashion a bit more interesting. Just make sure you know how to make yourself look good! Thumbs up from me!
OMG you are amazing! Thanks for the awesome advice! ;)

This photo says it all about the stiffness between pebbled leather and tan leather.

Thanks for posting the comparison photo! I'm debating whether I should exchange my pebbled washed chambray for the retro glove tanned colorblock (white/warm grey) borough. I love the color of the washed chambray, but I think the colorblock is more versatile and great as a summer bag. Does anyone have both and give their advice? I do love that the pebbled leather and the fact that it is more durable and not as high maintenance as the glove tanned leather.

Does anyone here own a retro glove tanned colorblock in white/warm grey and would be so kind to post a modeling picture for me? I would greatly appreciated!!! :smile1:

I have the chambray in medium and the gray-white colorblock in mini. I find the colorblock harder to match to outfits. The chambray seems to go with everything in my wardrobe. It is more casual to me - maybe that's why it goes with so much. The colorblock seems more formal (defined) whereas the chambray can easily be formal or casual.

The colorblock colors go with everything, but the style seems more restrictive, IMO.

I have gone Borough crazy lately. I just couldn't resist the 40% off and just ordered 3 minis. 😱
I will post a Borough family pic when these cuties arrive on Friday. Now I've got the vermillion and oxblood in the regular size, the medium soft borough in black, the pebbled black mini, glove tan vermillion mini, glove tan camel mini, white/warm grey mini and the navy tan/white mini.

This is what happens when you combine TPF, a Coach sale and stress from working way too much.

Thank you so much, Jesssh, for the feedback!! I agree that the pebbled chambray is more casual to me as well. I'm a SAHM and most of my wardrobe are all neutral colors (black, white, grey, ivory and blues), I don't know how to match my outfits with the chambray to make the color pop. I'm surprised to hear that you mentioned the style of the colorblock is more restrictive and harder to match with outfits. I guess grey-white is one of those colors that looks good, but not as versatile as I thought. I currently own the med. pebbled black, and just purchased the med. chambray yesterday. May I ask what colors you usually wear to coordinate with the grey-white colorblock?

Thanks for showing the difference between the leathers. I like the stiffness of the glove tanned leather because it gives structure but I'm afraid of how it will wear (scuffs and accidental scratches). It seems the pebbled would be tougher and more wear resistant or less likely to show scratches. Unfortunately the XL Borough only comes in glove tanned leather.

The gray/white/camel colors go with almost everything. It's the style that makes the outfit seem too matchy. It's almost like I have to deliberately mismatch it to make it seem like I'm not trying too hard. When I look at it, I see the straight line which makes me want to pair it with something modern. I also want it to pop, which means I need to go monochromatic or very simple.

I had planned to wear it with a white top and navy pants. I just realized that the white top is too white so I swapped it out for the cognac penny. :shrugs:

The chambray goes amazing with a burgundy top and light taupe skirt. And almost everything else. White jeans, dark jeans, military green, khaki, ....

Now if you wear a lot of black, the colorblock could be great. I am drawn to light neutrals and prints this summer, but the colorblock would look great with my black trench. Chambray might be a little dull with an all black outfit. I don't wear all black much.
