Thanks for posting the comparison photo! I'm debating whether I should exchange my pebbled washed chambray for the retro glove tanned colorblock (white/warm grey) borough. I love the color of the washed chambray, but I think the colorblock is more versatile and great as a summer bag. Does anyone have both and give their advice? I do love that the pebbled leather and the fact that it is more durable and not as high maintenance as the glove tanned leather.

Does anyone here own a retro glove tanned colorblock in white/warm grey and would be so kind to post a modeling picture for me? I would greatly appreciated!!! :smile1:
Here are some outfits I have worn with my Borough bag in the retro colorblock .
This bag is really easy to dress around and very casual in the white/ warm grey imo.
The leather is lighter than pebbled medium B also.
I almost got the chambray B but just opted for the cornflower daily bag since it is close to that color. I do love the chambray color, but I don't carry blue bags a lot .

(Nodding my head.) Yep. I might be about to get the mini bar strip (grey bottom, white/navy stripes) and that's why I was wondering. And when I say "about to", I mean today. Yes, of course I could ask my SA, but so many women here seem to know these bags inside and out. Thank you. :)

You are welcome! I think that one is very close to the Retro glove tanned. I drool over it all the time and saw it in the store on Friday. If only it weren't too darn small for me! I would have loved that one in the medium size! So far as I can tell, at least for the grey leather, it seems to be the same as the warm grey medium B, so at least that part of it should be the retro glove tanned. Can't wait to see pics--great choice! :D

Great outfits! And, I agree, the colorblock looks awesome with all of them! :graucho:

The mandarin part of the colorblock, the grey, camel and white bar stripe are all the retro glove tanned leather which is a leather processing description. The boarskin embossed part of the mandarin and the navy/white boarskin is an embossing technique used over cowhide leather. It does make it more rugged. I find that the mandarin/white colorblock's odor is much easier to live with than the all boarskin embossed one (white/navy). The mini barstripe is also retro glove tanned. I have it and truly love the look of it. Fun to use as well. I think if you're going to go with the glove tan rather than boarskin or pebbled, you just have to tell yourself you're going to enjoy using it a bit more carefully than say a pebbled bag. It's the nature of the beast. Once a dig in it, always a dig but most of us understand that when we buy a bag that has a superior look. It shouldn't stop you but you must be aware of it. Good luck!

May I ask a few questions of the Borough ladies here?
Which colors are the glove tanned? Is it only the camel and vermillion (which actually list it as glove tanned)? Or are the color blocks and bar stripes too?

And for those who have bags with white in them ... does the white pick up a lot of dirt/scuffs/etc?

Thank you. :)
I posted above which are glove tanned. White is white . . . will pick up denim rub off so not a good option. If you are careful and don't wear the deep rinsed denim, you should be okay but make sure to invest in the care products. Scratches will show more easily but it's a fab bag.

Thank you! :) I am nervous about the white parts, but it's only two white stripes on the mini-striped so I'm a little less paranoid. I have plenty of apple-brand conditioner ... will give it a once over. Thanks again. :)

(Oh, and I did end up getting it ... mini-striped-Borough. Such a cutie!)

Thank you, letstalkbags for the beautiful modeling pictures! You look fantastic with the white/warm grey retro colorblock. I love how you paired the different outfits with the bag. I honestly think this bag can be easily dressed up or down. Good to know that the leather is lighter than the pebbled med B, because sometimes I feel like after loading my black pebbled med B, it does get heavy! Well, what can I say, I like to be prepared when I'm out! Do you find retro colorblock hard to maintain? It's such a beautiful bag, do you find yourself having to be extra careful and baby it when you use it?

Yes it is, I ended up returning my grey/white in medium for another color but I kept this one, it's just so cute and not everyone has it and I am amazed at how many outfits I already had that it matches. My favorite are maxi dresses in say grey with a denim vest or with a grey/white or grey/black stripe jacket coverup. I get so many compliments in that bag. Love the tan on it too, that allows you to incorporate tan wedges to pick that color up too! It's an all around great!

speaking of corner rubs on the glove-tanned boroughs, anyone had any issues with this in the mini size? i'm hoping that since it is smaller/lays closer to the body that rubs will be less of an issue, but i'm kind of worried after hearing that people have had problems with color rubbing off the leather.

i've been eying the vermillion mini since it came out, and although i was planning on sitting out the sale, i got two great pieces of work-related news last week including a promotion, so i decided to spring for the vermillion mini as a reward. but now i'm wondering if i should have gotten the chambray instead.

Many thanks to you all who offered advice ... yep, I got the bar stripe mini too. It's soooo cute! And the stripes really catch the eye.

Perfect size for me too (I don't really carry that much). I LOVE these!
