Treasured.... couldn't quote your reply for some reason. There isn't a lot of orange in this vermilion.... I think there was more in legacy vermilion.... but anyways....I love this borough. The grey town tote is nice....I feel fabulous carrying her...I love the color, love the blue suede inside and the open top doesn't bother me in the least....I never shut the tops of my bags :)

Thanks for the info bobbyjean. My store never got the tote and I wanted to try it in person. I love the blue suede inside, it looks so luxurious!
I have seen the vermillion and you're right it is more red than orange. I tend towards neutrals in larger bags but I'm tempted by the mini in this color!:smile1:

I have the borough in moss and black and love them but wanted something more summery and I love red (and orange) anything. Red is my favorite color behind black :) you need to see the tote...the suede lining is such a pretty blue and feels so luxurious!

I couldn't wait to receive my Oxblood Borough. Had been lusting after this bag, but wasn't willing to pay full price on it. Was fortunate enough to be able to use PCE on it last week. Rushed home last night to open the box, and then... womp womp. No love. At all. Just an expensive bag super tightly squeezed into a box way too small for it. It litterally looked like someone tried to fold it in half to make it fit. I filled it up and hung it on a door know overnight in an attempt to stretch it and give it back some shape. Here are pics of what it looks like now:

Looks better than yesterday, but who wants to rehab a brand new bag worth $600? My initial reaction was to exchange it. But now I am wondering if this is what a pebbled Borough will end up looking like after a little wear. I love pebbled leather and love the slouchiness of my Phoebes, but I guess I was looking for a little more structure with the Borough. I feel torn between exchanging this bag for the exact same thing - one that hasn't lost its shape in shipping - or just return it and pay full price when I can afford it on a retro glove tan leather (which I am thinking would hold its shape better).

I have to say that pebbled leather was my top pick because I wanted a less formal look, and I knew the leather would give a little here and there. I just didn't expect it would be this much.

Am I just being picky? What do you ladies think? TIA!

I don't see the pics, but you sound undecided. Maybe tomorrow you'll know.

I would think a medium borough could stay structured if you either kept the load light or put structured items in it. I think you should get the leather you want and not worry about the structure. Therefore I would exchange it for the same or camel. Camel is what I would pick for myself. If you love the oxblood, try to exchange for a more structured one.

But take another day to think about it. It might not look so bad tomorrow. Look at the color in different lighting to make sure you want the oxblood. I think camel is more versatile, but gold is my color, not dark red. :p

EDIT: Try stuffing the smooshed side. Did it come with stuffing?

You could also try putting your items into it and see if it will weigh it down enough that it wouldn't bother you. For example, I would put my laptop tablet in the smooshy side and see how it hung when I carry it and put it down. Part of what I like about the bag is that it stands up. Yours doesn't look like it will stand up unless you put something stiff in the smooshy compartment.

Where was this shipped from?

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate the suggestions of stuffing it to try to improve the shape, or to place my items in such a way that the bag stands up. But this is my most expensive bag purchase, and I guess I am unwilling to settle or try to make it work. For a $600 bag, I expected a feel of luxury; or at the very minimum I wanted it to stand on its own and look good. At least I think it should on the day I get it brand new out of the box.

Did any of you have a pebbled Borough that arrived in this condition? (Mine came from JAX.) And more importantly, does anyone have a pebbled Borough that looks like this after a little wear? I guess this is the biggest turn-off here, that a Borough could end up looking this way after some use.

I have a pebbled and it slouches a bit but in no way looks like that unless I fold it in half and sit on it while I watch a half-hour sitcom. I would return it, if you can get another one, but keep it if you can't get another one. It will even out with stuffing and time to unwind, but no reason to put up with that unless you have no alternative. Ridiculous! You should absolutely expect more, and especially at these prices.
