So I took my creased favorite to my local LV today. The SA wasn't familiar with the defect and asked could it be due to how it was stored. I told her no, and that based on my research online, it's a well known defect several owners have experienced. She wasn't aware of such a defect, so she took photos of the purse, took information from the receipt and will be submitting it to their quality control department who handles all such issues for the United States. She said the email will go out Monday & I should be hearing from them Wednesday latest. It seems to be the standard protocol from what I have read on line. Keeping my fingers crossed she took good photos and they approve it! She did mention that there would be no way to repair the bag so if it is deemed a defect they will replace it. Till Wednesday!

Hi everyone,
I received a phone call from Louis Vuitton on 10/24. They stated that they found the bag to be defective and that they will be replacing it for me [emoji5].

Details:
The SA said they could only replace it if I have the receipt or know the name of who purchased the bag. I was at work when I received the call, and informed the SA that I showed them the receipt while I was in the store. Well apparently they didn't record information off of it. She said as long as I can produce either the receipt or the name of the individual who purchased it AND if the sale date was within the last two years, then the bag is replaceable. Thankfully I fit the criteria! So I had my fiancé text me a pic of the receipt which I forwarded to the SA via text message. She confirmed via text that I'm good to go and to come in whenever to have it replaced. I Just need to give them 48hrs notice so they can make sure they have it in stock. I probably won't be able to get back there until this weekend, but I would definitely let you all know when I have the new one in hand and of course include pics. Thank you again for all your help along the way! [emoji5]

I plan to use the new DE and see how it feels in the first few days of use. If I'm not feeling it, I'll consider changing it out for another cross body bag.

So, I heard back today. There is a defect, but they will NOT replace it without a receipt. I got this bag preloved. :( I argued to no avail....I even called corporate. I am livid! I have bought some new from LV so I am in their system. They sure don't stand by their products! I asked for my case to be moved up the chain, and a supervisor at corporate is supposed to call me in the next few days. I feel as if i'm being treated like a thief! We'll see if the supervisor will do anything.

Sorry to hear of this! [emoji853] they seem to be quite strict about this receipt issue. Are you willing to sell it and recoup some monies from it?

I may do that. I'm trying to decide. :( It's just so upsetting. Basically the supervisor who called me today indicated that he would have to have at least the name of who purchased the bag (which I don't have) in order to get a replacement. UGH. Last LV item I will ever buy.

Sorry this happened. This is one of the reason why I never buy preloved without an original receipt from the seller, just in case I need a repair done years later. When I took my wallet in for repair, my SA who knows me asked for my receipt, and luckily I had one. I think LV is trying to stop companies who specialize in the preloved market, specifically Yoogi, Fashionphile etc...

I agree, if I ever buy LV again I will buy one that comes with receipt! I bought a Gucci disco....we will see what I think when it comes.

I've been keeping something thick between my flap magnet and the magnet in the bag in the hopes that I can prevent the crease. So far no crease but my bag is only a month old. Has anyone tried this before and has it worked for you?

Yes, I do the same with my Favorite. I put 3 paper tissues between flap and magnet. I purchased mine in May and so far no crease. Fingers crossed. :)
