Tan Towels are great!

Does anyone else get white inner elbows from bending them after you apply the towels? It happens to me everytime!

I've actually had the opposite problem (with every self tanner). My inner arms, from wrist to inner elbow, can get too dark since that area should naturally be a little lighter. Now I apply a very light layer of lotion to that area first and then another very light layer to just my inner elbow about 10-15 minutes later.

finally just opened a pack to try. I have to say it was very simple, not messy or smelly. I feel like I got every bit of body. It says I will tan in the next 2-4 hours so can't wait to see the results. Hopefully, it will last a week? I'll keep you all posted on my results.

Well, here is my update...I didn't do too well applying. I went outside so was in the light and could see on my legs lots of spots I missed. Parts of my legs were tan, other parts white like water dripped on them or something. I guess I'll try it again but slower, I think I kind of rushed it.

So after doing a good job applying the towels, and then a bad one I decided to experiment a bit bc I really want these to work. I was having the hardest time around my knees (elbows and ankles were not a problem) and no matter how much I exfoliated or how carefully I applied I kept getting that dirty knee look. I was also smelling kind of "self tannerish" (if that makes any sense). Last week I tried using the towels from my neck to my butt and then using a gradual self tanner on my legs; worked like a charm. The color developed beautifully and there wasn't really a noticeable difference bt the "toweled" area and the gradual tanner. There was also absolutely no unpleasant smell, and like many ladies have said, the tan faded beautifully. After such great success I decided to try another whole body towel only app. Last time I did the whole body thing I started at my legs and worked my way up, I was thinking that maybe this was a bad idea so I started on my upper body and then did my legs, thinking there would be less tanner on the towel by the time I get to my legs so maybe a lower percentage of yucky knees. I don't know if it was this thinking or the fact that I am more comfortable w the towels now, but the application is streak free and is not too dark ANYWHERE; I am so excited. Sorry to ramble but I am super excited that I finally got the hang of these :woohoo:

Thanks Talexs! I've only given it one try but maybe since I have a few days off and can take my time I'll try again. other than the streaking, the color was natural. I've been using the Jergens slow tanner all over and while it's not as dark there is some color.

I just started using these in the last 6 weeks. My first application wasn't so great , but now I figured out what works for me. I start on the upper body and do my legs last. Using circualr motions when applying, (I think I saw that on a tantowel video on HSN).

I've been using approx 2 applications per week and I think it looks natural. It just takes trial and error, good luck girls!
