So, speaking of vintage. My local consignment shop recently got in a gorgeous Petit Noe that I learned today is from 1988!! So naturally . . . she just came home with me. Please meet this mature 28 year old gal! Can't believe the condition. View attachment 3420368
Wow! Looks so good! That's why I buy LV; if you take care of them they will last. My oldest bag is from 2003, but looks like new.

I was honestly shocked when they told me the date code! I loved my LV bags before, but the look and feel of these gorgeous vintage beauties is really elevating me to a whole other level of appreciation.:heart::heart:

P.S. I think I was wrong about the date of my Saumur 35 (still on the way) - the date code is AR 9001, which I thought was 1990, but I think it actually might be 2001? Vintage either way, as I think the official definition is 15 years or older.

Can y'all believe that 2001 was FIFTEEN YEARS AGO??? But that's a whole other subject. LOL. :hrmm::biggrin:

Hi, I'm new here. But I thought I would share. I have a LV Amazon that I received as a birthday present in 1986. It is in pristine condition and I love it all of these years later. I still carry my bag; it looks a little different from the new ones because of the leather used then. It is still gorgeous and you cannot go wrong by carrying your classic pieces. I have not replaced anything on my bag. I have the Eclair zippers and I would love a new zipper with the miniature padlock. But, I have decided that I am not going to alter my bag unless I have to.

I love that! I think a vintage piece that YOU yourself have owned all those years is even more special! I love that you still carry and enjoy the bag. Please share a pic if you want to!

1990, because there is no such thing as the 90th week of 2001.

Here she is! She has a birthday coming soon and she is just as reliable as day one.

Love her!!! What a useful style, and wow, she looks to be in fabulous condition.

Ha! Quite right. Thank you! The inconsistency in these date codes makes it a bit confusing. So my Saumur is an old lady after all!

Hello LV friends!

I'm looking at buying a pre-loved bag from 1990. Which, after some mental gymnastics, I realized is 26 years ago. TWENTY SIX! How did that happen? Am I really this old? Lord. Anyway . . .

I'm just wondering . . . do any of you carry bags this old? It appears to be in great condition, but I have doctors and lawyers younger than this bag. Does LV really stand the test of time? Do you have bags that are 20+ years old that are still looking and performing great?

Tell me about your old ladies (and please share pics, if you like).

This bag is a French Luggage Co. bag from 1984. Other than some chipping where the lock snaps, this bag looks great. It belonged to my mother, and now my daughter carries it.

Can you post pictures of your Saumar + mod pics if possible? I've been debating whether or not I should purchase a vintage one as well. Thanks! :)

My love for LV started back in 1987, with a monogram Speedy. I still have the bag and it is in perfect condition. I keep all my LV's in their dust bag on a shelf in my closet. I like to rotate and change my bag choice a lot, so it's not that I used it everyday but still......it's old and perfect shape.
