I'm looking at buying a pre-loved bag from 1990. Which, after some mental gymnastics, I realized is 26 years ago. TWENTY SIX! How did that happen? Am I really this old? Lord. Anyway . . .
I'm just wondering . . . do any of you carry bags this old? It appears to be in great condition, but I have doctors and lawyers younger than this bag. Does LV really stand the test of time? Do you have bags that are 20+ years old that are still looking and performing great?
Tell me about your old ladies (and please share pics, if you like).
I purchased a crossbody Saumur 30 from 1994 in excellent condition. Love it!

Ahhh Nikki my friend! I should have checked this thread too. I just posted some mod shots of the Petit Noe for you in the other thread, but I JUST NOW dropped off the Saumur at Louis Vuitton to have a rivet replaced. The old gal arrived in lovely condition, but with one of the top/side pieces of leather detached because a rivet was missing. Only $30 for LV to replace it, so I decided to do that instead of send it back. It will be a long 6 week wait to get her back, but when I do, I will post plenty of mod shots! I love this bag so much. I thought I'd only use it for travel, but honestly, I love using a huge bag daily, so I can see myself using it when not traveling as well.

My Vintage Louis Vuitton Trousse 23 Cosmetic Pouch, MIF April 1985!!! First pic with dull tarnished zipper is before , other two pics are after.
I love purchasing vintage and discontinued styles, and restoring/cleaning them up. Recently purchased this Trousse 23 from Malleries, hard to believe she's 30 years old and in great condition! I wiped inside and out with warm soapy water, used
sanitizer inside and out; conditioned outside with Cadillac Cleaner and Conditioner, and cleaned the dull tarnished zipper with Blue Metal Magic Cleaner, stuffed the inside with dryer sheets which removed the "old smell." Now she's like new!!!

Can I ask what the cost of the new zipper was? I have an older speedy like this and need the same done.
