wow! it's soo beautiful and i could hardly believed that it's turning 20 years old!! you're lucky! i hope you got it way cheaper than the recent price. may i know how much you paid?

Thanks! :) I got it for around USD370 and it slipped customs so yay!!! [emoji4]

I cleaned and conditioned the vachetta parts after the first time of using it bec. somehow the handles caught dirt and I don't want to ruin this beauty. The handles and chaps are a medium honey color now bec. of the conditioner's effect, but still lovely. I also wrapped twillies on the handles to protect them even more.

Side story: I specifically searched for a 1997 Speedy 25 bec. it's my then DBF (now DH) and I's anniversary year. So no matter what happens to this sweetheart, I'd keep her as beautiful and as long as I can! [emoji7]

Hello LV friends!

I'm looking at buying a pre-loved bag from 1990. Which, after some mental gymnastics, I realized is 26 years ago. TWENTY SIX! How did that happen? Am I really this old? Lord. Anyway . . .

I'm just wondering . . . do any of you carry bags this old? It appears to be in great condition, but I have doctors and lawyers younger than this bag. Does LV really stand the test of time? Do you have bags that are 20+ years old that are still looking and performing great?

Tell me about your old ladies (and please share pics, if you like).

I started collecting LV 7 years ago and mostly are pre-loved 'coz it's much cheaper and i never thought that i'm gonna forever love bags, particularly LV. my first purchased is an epi noe coded: A21910 and correct me if i'm wrong...i understood it as made in france-november 1990. gosh! it will be almost 26 years! and i still Love IT!

wrapped twillies made it so chic! Love It!
what did you use for cleaning and conditioned? lovin my bags are very popular in you tube.
very cheap indeed! not to mentioned the slipped in customs too!
...i'm sorry but what does DBF and (now DH) means? i'm so new here in PF.
thnx for pic

Tissue inside when you store and not in a hot room. Throw some silica packets in. I wonder if I had done these things if the zipper would have survived.

Enjoy your bag. I really love those vintage pieces.

Thank you for the tips! Silica packets are a great idea.

Yes I have a vintage "loop" LV

Date code M51147 so old France is spelled with little f. It is still in excellent condition

Beautiful!! My bag also has a "little f" France. I was worried about authenticity because of that, until I did more research! Half the fun of vintage pieces is the history.

I just love all your bags and all your stories. The anniversary year Speedy - so romantic and it's in such beautiful shape!

I had seen a lady wearing it at Les Deux Magots in Paris.
I didn't know anything about LV, it wasn't that popular at the time.
All I know is that I fell in love with it right away and had to have it.
It's still my favourite bag....

I love this so much. My Speedy was my first and is still my favorite bag too. I hope I also have mine for 40 years!

Thank you so much for sharing yours!!

Thanks! :) I clean the vachetta parts first by wiping it with non-alcohol, unscented baby wipes to remove the dirt and gunk especially under the handles. Then I use Apple Leather Conditioner afterwards.

No worries :) DBF means dear boyfriend and DH means dear husband :) I also learned about these shortcuts along the way as a tPF member. You will too for sure :)

Thanks Summer! [emoji4]
