Wow, 1:3 kind of scary. I’m looking for B25 Sellier in pop-up color, and couldn’t even imagine pre-spend ratio for this one.
Yah, it is quite scary to think about. I am in a very competitive area though and I only bought things that I like which helped. The reseller prices for size 25 in the colours I want are more than double RRP which I feel is too much

I’m buying things that I like as well, but 1:3 ratio even for size 25 and popular neutral is was too much. However, I feel that for B25 sellier I would need to spend the same amount, as reseller prices around 36-38k$

Do you have any ideas the rough spend ratio needed for Kelly Pochette? I am in US, regular leather is not considered as quota bag, but it is still rare and competitive. I would like to know the rough Prespend range

I have a question:
I've been a casual H shopper for about 5 years. Bought a few teams from my local boutique, a Evelyn bag and Oran sandals and a few other small teams online. Now I'm just getting serious with wanting an quota bag. I made an appointment last week with an SA who was brand new to the store, 1k purchase and asked for her contact information. Did I make a mistake by buying online and jumping around with SAs over the years? Should I have started this more serious journey with a more long term SA? Maybe someone I had bought from years ago???

It doesn’t necessarily have to be exorbitant! I got the same bag style in gold with gold hardware and definitely spent less than its cost. It was also my first bag! For my second bag, which is a Birkin 25 verso, I actually spent less, but I guess my area isn’t as competitive, so YMMV.

Welcome to TPF! It's never a waste if you bought items you enjoy. However, going forward, the short answer to your query...the best way to obtain a quota bag is to shop with the same SA in store once you find someone you click with. Your online purchases will not help your profile or bring you closer to the goal of B/K. You may want to read the the "Maintaining an H Relationship" thread as it contains lots of useful advice. Best wishes!

I understand building a relationship with an SA, but I was wondering if it was a mistake to start with a new SA( as in new to the company) vs someone who has been there for years

No. What really matters is if your like this SA and think you can work with them.

You are not the first to wonder if somehow newer vs experienced SA makes a difference and that really is not the biggest factor. See here for someone else answering a similar question and explaining why. More experienced SA may have more sales and can get more bags but that’s because they already have a group of established long-term clients with them, and they have to take care of their existing clients. A newer SA may have less sales or power at the store but they are more likely to put you higher in their list as they are new and just starting to build their list. It more or less works out. We also sometimes hear that the biggest sales don’t even want to / care to take on many new clients because they are already busy with existing ones. Also, sometimes the SM (manager who in many places have the final say on allocating bags after SAs propose bag offers) will even help out a new SA by giving more bags to them so they can quickly establish a group of loyal clients for themselves.

In the end IMO what really matters is if you connect with your SA. Did you like the SA that helped you and enjoyed your experience shopping with them? If so I’d stick with them for a bit and see how things go.

You can't undo the past. But even when she's new, if you had a good connection with your new SA and she is helpful to you, you both can start your H journey together if both of you would like to. I got my B30 GHW years ago from a new SA (she was in H only for a few months at that time, but has since moved to another H store in another place and got promoted as an Assistant Store Manager) about four months into the journey with her. As with H, there are no hard and fast rules. It's about good luck, timing, availability, and connection.

Something that's always worked well for me is just checking in with my SAs in NY and Madrid regularly. My NY SA and I text almost every week or two, and most of the time it's not even Hermes-related. We often exchange Netflix recommendations, pictures of our pets, or just catch up about normal stuff. My SA in Madrid and I check in every few months and just make sure the other is okay given everything going on in our respective countries. I'm sure your SA will appreciate that and also keep you top of mind when new things come in after you remind her of your wish list!

Definitely agree with what everyone else has said! It's different from store to store and really comes down to your relationship with your SA. If she's giving you weird vibes then, that's frustrating... but starting from scratch with a new SA or store is a big commitment.

Ultimately, don't feel pressured by her, just buy what you like, and feel free to nudge her with a gentle reminder of what you are looking for. A non-work-related text here and there goes a long, long way

Curious about this! I would LOVE to text my SA and chat about random stuff, I click well with her! However I don't want to bother her on work channels/make her job harder/ cross any boundaries. But it would be great if I could, as part of me wishes we could be irl friends!
