I just got a Birkin 25 in Gold with GHW and let me tell you, my prespend was very high. I think it ended up being over 30k. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been offered it if I had stopped anywhere under 20k. My first quota was a K25 in etain and the prespend for that was on the lower side. I think it was around 1:1. I think the Kelly 25 is much easier to get than the B25.

Hi everyone - I'm curious to hear more about experiences after you get your first quota bag.

I've been shopping at my home store with my SA (the first SA I was paired with) since 2019, so it's been 2 years. I was offered my first quota bag in early 2020 and I'm so grateful for it. A couple months later, I made a big purchase in fine jewelry ($8K) and was surprised with a C18, which I took home. Since then, I've spent another ~$8K not including leather purchases (~$3K) and have yet to receive my 2nd quota bag.

I've spent ~15K since my first offer which was over a year ago, not including leather good purchases and I've definitely hinted/joked politely about my wishlist items. I'd love to get another one this year (fingers crossed) and I'm just curious to hear other member's experiences. Do most established clients easily get 2 quota bags per year or is 1 quota bag a year more of the norm? Is it typically harder or easier to get subsequent offers after your first offer?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you should be clearer.
This does not mean that you should be unreasonably demanding.
However you should be perceived as having expectations that you expect to be met.
Hinting or joking politely shows that you can be put at the bottom of the list without comment and you will wait patiently whilst other more assertive customers get priority over you.

Wow, thanks for sharing and congrats on your B25! That's interesting about the K25 being easier than the B25. Are you located in the US?

Thanks for your input, much appreciated! I agree, I need to be clearer. I've been hesitant to ask the question directly because I'm sure the SA's hear that question all day long and I worry it might be taken as being pushy or demanding.

I guess I'm not sure how to bring it up when I visit next? Any tips? I was invited to a RTW event at my store in a few weeks so planning to bring it up then

Just let your SA know that you would love to get a size/color/hw/style this year. Your list is mainly YG or RG, so are you flexible as to HW?

i have no idea how bag offers work, but I would imagine that it’s possible wishlists are like ranked choice voting. If x bag comes in, and your SA knows that you and another person, who have comparable spend and have waited approximately the same amount of time, have x bag on wishlists, but she put it as 1, and you put it as 3, with flexibility on HW, she won’t know it could have been your #1 unless you say so. . . JMO though

Thanks for the helpful advice. Makes sense to focus on your top 1-2 choices. Yup, my SA knows I generally prefer Gold HW and that I’m also open to Palladium HW.

Reading this thread leaves me so puzzled when i see yet another you tube video pop up how someone got a blue b25 with zero pre-spend.
Idk who it was (never seen this person's channel before nor after) but how is this possible?

ETA i checked my you tube history, it was a young lady called Jacira (jaci bites) who claims to have gotten a birkin with out any previous shopping & with no long wait . How can this be?

I don't know that YT personality and I have never watched her in YT. I am not saying that she isn't telling the truth and my comment is not particularly referring to her-----but sometimes, some people say that they had 0 pre-spend before they were offered a B (unless they tried their luck in Paris).....but what they fail to say is that they were actually "accommodated" and offered a highly coveted item because they were with a "high roller" when they shopped there. I personally was never offered a "popular item" without spending anything first in any H store that I have been to (I am not a high roller though). Not saying it never happens.....but I am just relaying my personal experience.

My guess is that it was offered to her because it's an incredibly bright blue bag and none of the regulars wanted it (I believe the boutique is in Biarritz which is quite a posh and traditional french town - I can't see any of the locals wanting such a bright bag and the boutique may have struggled to shift the colours from that season i.e. Bleu Frida, Rose Texas)

I think there's such a fine line between being assertive and coming across as aggressive...

I agree with @WhiteBus that being too polite makes it easy for your SA to put you at the back of the queue but I'd be so worried about annoying my SA by coming across as too pushy and then destroying the pleasant relationship I've built with her so far... Does that make sense ?

But staying on topic - if you feel you've spent more than the "threshold" (and looking at your wishlist @_queenbee it's quite reasonable) perhaps ask your SA for some indication on timing and whether your wishlist is too specific or doesn't tie in with the type of stock they're getting?

I have a feeling you'll get your dream bag by the end of the year though - the fact you were offered a surprise C18 is a good indicator the H gods like you xx

This is so refreshing to know in a sense that you really do have to spend to get a bag. Hearing all about those walk ins, no purchase history, etc sometimes makes you wonder. Yes, happy for them but sometimes just too good to be true. Or I would watch YouTube on how they scored a bag, and come to find out it was size 35. Iykyk

I so agree about the 'fine line' and 'asking for some indication'.
I also appreciate, _queenbee, you understanding that SAs must get fed up with customers asking for quota bags. But the bottom line has to be honesty. Forget this is Hermes with all the hyped woo woo.
You seem to have a decent SA. If you are a loyal Hermes customer who genuinely enjoys shopping across the store because you like and want the items, rather than scheming what will get you brownie points towards a quota bag, you shoul be able speak honestly with your SA about what you want and possibly more importantly, what your chances are.
He or she should understand and not look upon you as just another high spending customer who will be gone after her next Birkin and will keep you spending for as long as possible.

Yeah. This is true. Recently I watched some YouTube videos specific to birkin 25s and it looks like just about everyone had to spend quite a bit to get one. A lot of people mentioned fine jewelry with diamonds on it. I think getting a big ticketed item like that really helps. I was lucky that I actually liked the diamond jewelry my sa sort of “hinted” at toward the end of my prespend and closer to the time of my offer.

Completely agree! I’ve built a good business relationship with my SA that I want to protect and ensure it stays positive. I also agree that I should be more honest and assertive with what I want.

Thanks for the advice! I shop at a big store in CA and I know I can’t compete with the high spenders there :) But my SA has mentioned that size 25 would be hard when I’ve gave my wishlist.

Another newbie question, do you members save these wishlist convos for in person visits or also ask via text?

Thanks @WhiteBus, appreciate your perspective. I definitely see myself as a loyal customer and hope my SA also sees that I’m not going to be gone after getting another quota bag haha. Honesty is the best policy! We’ll see what my SA says when I bring it up
