Anyone have experience with or care to posit a guess about spend in Mexico? I have watched Je Suis Lou's video about getting a K25 in what seems to be a few months after her B25 with also what appears to be no spend. Very interesting.
Yes I’m super interested to know as well. I’m from Singapore and from what I hear it’s very strict and you have to spend about 1.5x B/K price before youre even allowed on the waitlist lol.

Dont believe everything you watch on youtube ...its in an influencers best interest to post a story that makes them appear 'special' or creates content.

Thanks so much! I am worried if I don’t soend enough she will stop offering me bags when I bought my K28, she gave me some mean words Hinting about me not spending enough and she could have offered to other customers. I was a bit upset and not sure if thats true or not since I don’t know what is the normal spending. ‍♀
OMG. I can't believe it! What the...I wouldn't blame you for being upset or mad. I think I would have switched SAs after that.

True. Can you imagine if the YT star said: "Gosh, so lucky that on my 15th try in one week and a pre-spend of 20K Euros I was offered a Picotin finally!" How cool and inspiring that would be---not!

I know this question has been asked time and time again and I know I've even doled out answers on this exact question, but do leather goods and small leather goods count towards pre-spend? I bought an Evelyne earlier this year and I would like to purchase a bolide, but I'm wondering if it counts and if it does count, how much weight does it carry versus fine jewelry, costume jewelry, rtw, shoes, etc. I'm in the U.S.

In the US, there is no equation. Everything counts but to varying levels. The only guide is that the more difficult an item is for the SA/store to sell, the more they will appreciate you buying it. However, this key item/category likely differs from store to store, SA to SA, and even week to week. If your SA just had another client drop $40k on a Diamond bracelet yesterday but have sold zero silks so far this month, then a 3 cashmere scarf purchase might inspire them to check the back room for something special for you. Or if the same Lindy 34 has been sitting in the display case for two years and you finally come along and buy it, the SM might feel more wiling to approve your Birkin request on the spot as well. IMO, it’s not worth it to try to game the system in this way, just buy the items that you want and can afford and the bag offers will follow.

I think the majority of SAs can sniff out people who are genuinely there because they enjoy the brand, and people who are just buying to try and get a Birkin. I'm nowhere near VIP level spending, but my SA has always told me he'll get me anything I'd like, and I like to imagine it's because I fall in the former category. I feel it's a lot more about the rapport you build than filling up a set meter of purchases.

very surprised at all these spend ratios i'm reading! my first ever H purchase is a Constance 18 and the SA didn't push me to get anything else. maybe i just got super lucky because it was peak covid...
Yep, peak covid there were fears that the economy was going to collapse and luxury shopping would implode. Plus they still had annual sales goals to meet and thus sold pretty much anything to anyone who walked in and asked (and they were actively cold calling known clients with offers to ship quota bags just to make a sale). Now things have completely reversed and getting a bag is as difficult as it’s ever been. :(

Good day all! Very, very newbie here. I’ve purchased a couple small items online from Hermès. Two weeks ago I decided to visit the boutique in DC. I met a lovely SA and she helped me shop the store and I gave her my wishlist, a black B35, not particular about hardware. She tells me to keep coming into the store and she will keep me in mind for the handbag. I started researching and I didn’t realize spend history had anything to do with getting the bag. Does this really exist? I’m accustomed to Chanel. My first visit, years ago, I purchased a Maxi Classic Flap in black and then decided to get all the accessories and shoes. Should I buy things I normally would not to build a history or should I buy preloved? I was offered an Evelyne but told her it wasn’t my style, I like totes. Should I keep buying in hopes of an offer in the future? For the US, what is a typical spend history? What if an offer never comes? What if an offer were to come in a couple months? It’s the not knowing that kills me and I always seem to make the wrong decision. I have newbie jitters and I apologize for so many questions. Any thoughts, guidance or suggestions would be appreciated!
