Small classic flap vs mini rectangular?

Honestly in my opinion, even if both fit the same, classic flaps are iconic and I personally love them!
Others differences might be more important like how you plan to wear it because the strap drops are different.. also the material.. minis are only available in lambskin now..

I have four mini‘s and for the longest time I thought I want a small cf too, but in the end i decided against it because it‘s just too similar to my mini‘s and doesn‘t fit more things inside either.
But like the others already mentioned, the strap drops are different so I‘d try them on to see how they fit with your height and frame!

That’s exactly what I was thinking too! I tried them on in store but they didnt have the hardware I wanted so I put myself on a waitlist for both so hopefully I can try them both on again in the color and hardware I want and help make my decision easier- I love lambskin so I’m def choosing that lol
I’m petite too and under 5’ and just recently purchased my first chanel, a small cf black ghw before the price increase last May. I just love the look of the cf compared to the mini. If you’ve always wanted a cf, I don’t think that itch will be gone if you settle with a mini, and the price just keeps getting higher. At the time, I told myself that it would be wiser to get the cf now than later since i knew I’d always want another one in a pop of color and a mini would be an easier choice for my next piece since it’s only around 4k USD, compared to a small 6k USD.
But if you happen to find a mini in a color that you really like, I realized that you should act fast. Btw, i saw in another group that the mini this season have a shorter strap drop compared to previous seasons. Or you could just tie the strap to shorten it.

I prefer cfs over minis personally. They feel more substantial. To me the mini almost feels like a shell of a cf.
They are super cute though, just a bit pricey for what it is.

If you don't want to baby your bag and want to get one in caviar, I think the small CF is more worth it because if you buy a preloved mini in caviar you have to pay a premium. I find the small CF more versatile, it can go from day to nigh and can be worn in more ways: double chain / single chain, on shoulder or crossbody. I myself own a mini in lambskin and a medium CF and have been dying to get a small CF in beige clair with GHW!
Those are great points! I think I’m leaning towards the classic flap then hopefully there’s not another price increase
Yes, price increase is also an important reason why you should get a CF as soon as you can afford it. Since they're already very expensive, just a fraction of the price costs a lot. Usually, there are 2 price increases per year in May and November so you shouldn't hesitate for too long!
If I can only have one, definitely the small cf! It’s a classic, the minis are not! The quality of the small is definitely better also. The price is higher for a reason. I know the price is already high but if you get the mini now you will have to pay more to get the small in the future, you will want a real classic in the future!

It’s a very tough decision. Mini rectangular has long strap. Small CF kept its shape better. Mini is harder to get . Classic CF is always classic style. I’m sorry I’m no help to you. Tough decision.
Hands down small CF.
1. Good chain length for your height. The chains on mini are sooo long! It’s a hassle to tie the chains and put it inside the bag.
2. Double flaps help keep shape.
3. It’s a classic style.
4. Don’t settle because of price.
5. Small size is a nicer shape.
6. More ways to wear the bag instead of just cross body.
